Creigiau Netball Club Creigiau 23 turns 40!

The Big 4O comes to us all, however, when 23 Creigiau residents got together in late 1969, little did they know that the society they would go on to form would still be going 40 years later. During that time, Creigiau 23 has raised thousands of pounds much of which has been ploughed back in to the village and its organisations. These include, but are not limited to the Scouts, Guides and Brownies, the Church Hall, various play groups, Cylch Meithrin, Creigiau Primary School, Cricket Club, Tennis Club, Allotment Society, Football Club, Golf Club Juniors and RFC Mini & Juniors. Creigiau senior netball club celebrated the end of the season with a Records show that there have been well over presentation night in Creigiau Church Hall. This was attended by a large 260 villagers who have been members at some number of current players, coaches and umpires plus a few of the original stage in their lives and indeed that number is members of the club. Sport Relief Mile The total raised on the night of the BBC Sport Relief broadcast was £31,633,091.00. Of this £200 was raised in Creigiau Primary School. Sport Relief Mile was created to give the campaign a focus. It was also designed to celebrate the 50 th anniversary of Sir Roger Bannister who was the first man to run a mile in under 4 minutes. In 2010 a large amount of schools in Britain did a Sport Relief Mile. Anyone in Creigiau Primary School who did the Sport Relief Mile had to pay £1. That means that 200 pupils and staff ran the Sport Mile. It was very tiring but fantastic fun!! Thank you to Mr Balbini for organising this event. By Caitlin Coe & Bethan Downs Class 6
