MOTION FOR ELECTION TO THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON OFFICES OF PROFIT

SHRI to move the following Motion:—

"That this House concurs in the recommendation of the that a Joint Committee on Offices of Profit be constituted for the purposes set out in the Motion adopted by the Lok Sabha at its sitting held on the 1st August, 2014 and communicated to this House, and resolves that this House do join in the said Joint Committee and proceed to elect, in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote, five Members from among the Members of the House to serve on the said Joint Committee.” ————

Commission for recommending persons for appointment as the Chief Justice of India and other Judges of the Supreme Court and Chief Justices and other Judges of High Courts and for their transfers and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, as passed by Lok Sabha, be taken into consideration.
