2015 Cross Country Championship Meet Information

Date: Saturday, October 31, 2015

Site: Pacific Lutheran University South Field(X-C Course), Parkland, WA.

Directions: Pacific Lutheran University is located 7 miles south of downtown Tacoma, Washington. Take exit 127 off Interstate 5 and head east on Highway 512. Continue on 512 for approximately two miles. Take the WA-7/Pacific Ave exit. Turn right on Pacific Avenue S. Turn right on Garfield St and follow it to the intersection with Park Avenue. Turn left on Park Avenue and follow it down the hill to 125th Street South. Turn right on 125th Street South. Turn right at the intersection of 125th Street South and Yakima Avenue South. Follow the road as it bends to the left and turns into 124th Street South. The PLU X-C course is located just south of the track facility.

Time: Women 6K - 10:00AM

Men 8K - 11:00AM

Entries: Deadline for entries is noon on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 (via www.directathletics.com).

Sports Information: Send team rosters with hometowns, year in school, eligibility year, and seasonal highlights to Tyler Scott, Director of Athletics Communications, Pacific Lutheran University, [email protected].

Athletic Training: Staff Certified Athletic Trainers, a Team Physician and local EMS will be on site for the duration of the event. There will be a designated treatment area set up on site for the championship participants. We will also have water and an electrolyte drink available for the race participants. The Certified Athletic Training Staff will be at the race site 90 minutes prior to the start of the first race. If your team is not traveling with a Certified Athletic Trainer and you have student-athletes that need specific use of modalities or treatment, please provide the Pacific Lutheran Athletic Training Staff with written treatment instructions prior to race day. Results: Unofficial results will be posted on reader boards near the finish line as soon as possible. Two sets of official results will be available for pickup at the Awards ceremony for each head coach.

Course Inspection: Friday, October 30th 3:00PM-6:00PM.

Packet Pick-Up: Friday, October 30th 3:00PM-6:00PM in the Olson Auditorium front lobby.

Restrooms: Eight (8) portable toilets will be furnished for athletes and coaches. Spectators may use the Olson Auditorium restrooms.

Shelter: Olson Auditorium Fieldhouse will be available in case of inclement weather. No tents will be provided by the host school. Teams are encouraged to provide their own shelter.

Dressing: Shower facilities will be made available in Olson Auditorium. Bring towels. You must provide for your own security for valuables and clothing in these locker room areas.

Admission: (Adults): $8.00 (Students): $6.00

Programs: Two Meet Programs will be available in the coach’s packet and additional copies may be printed from the available PDF on line.

Parking: Team bus parking will be located in the Morken Lot. You can drop teams off in front of the track and then continue to designated parking areas. Please anticipate a campus map a week prior to the contest.

T-Shirts: RushTeam Apparel will be on site to sell commemorative championship t-shirts.

Box Assignments: Random draw.

Competition Bibs/ Chips: Bib numbers and chips must be worn by each athlete. The number must be secured to the FRONT of the singlet and a chip to each shoe.

Timing System: The meet will use Hy-Tek results software, two MacFinish / TimeTronics timing systems and timing chips. Chips will be collected after the runners finish and before they leave the finish coral. For backup, two video systems will be in place at the finish line (one on the side of the finish line and one facing the bibs) with a backup timer and a backup finish place recorder. We will also have tear away bibs and a stop watch as backups. Pace clocks will be placed at each mile and 1000m marks.

Declaration: You do not need to declare your 10 runners but in order to insure the correct results and finishers, please return the unused bib numbers and chips from your packet to the finish line by 9:45am so that those athletes may be purged from the meet and speed up the results compilation.
