Overview: Our client is an Independent twelve year old School. It is located in a modern facility in Jersey City on the New Jersey side of the Hudson River with views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. It is an AMS full member school and an IB World School authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. The school, serves 200+ students ranging from age 2 through Middle School, Students and staff are culturally diverse, reflecting the neighborhood population. The school is readily accessible from Manhattan and other parts of New Jersey by all modes of transportation, including PATH, light rail, ferry and water taxi. As a member of the faculty, you will be part of a team that is collegial, forward thinking, committed to the success of its students and who are inculcating a life-long love of learning in them. The school utilizes all tools available to educate its students: state-of-the-art technology, a one-to-one laptop program, Montessori Model United Nations participation and has an extensive arts/sciences program. As a result of this commitment its students are not only exceeding academic goals but are also acquiring all the necessary skills to be productive future citizens of the world.

Its expanding program is currently seeking Montessori certified teachers for ages 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 and 12-15 or must be enrolled in a Montessori teacher certification program.
Areas of responsibility: Maintaining the integrity and scope of the Montessori Method. Preparing the Montessori classroom environment to meet individual student needs and interests Meeting regularly with students to work with them in assessing their own success and facilitating an individual path of progress Maintaining student records, reports, evaluations, inventories and tests Understanding and promoting the school’s vision, mission, and goals Participating in field trips including overnight stays when necessary Continuing professional growth and development through conferences and certification programs.
Position Requirements: Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Three years teaching experience Montessori Certification Positive communication style with students, co-teachers and parents and must be dedicated and able to work in teams.
