Kindergarten Science Fair

During the week of Jan. 23rd-27th we will be having our Kindergarten Science Fair! Listed below is the date and time that your child is assigned to present. We encourage all children to participate in the science activity. We would like each child to find a simple science experiment that they can demonstrate in front of the class. Please help them to be able to talk about or demonstrate their experiment for 5 minutes or less. If they are unable to do the experiment in the classroom they can bring pictures and items and explain what they did and what happened during the experiment. Parents are encouraged to come if possible at their child’s scheduled time and watch or help them. Please be here a few minutes early to allow time to set up so we can stay on schedule.

Here are a few suggestions/ideas for topics for the science fair: Magnets Light Heat Shadows Reflection Energy Solids Liquids Plants Gases Static Electricity Solar System Weather Simple Machines: Wheels, Pulley, Levers Air movement Water – Sinking & Floating The Earth Sound and sound waves

The public libraries have many books with simple science projects for children of all ages. There are also many good resources on the internet. Please choose a simple project. Projects with matches or fire are NOT allowed. We hope this will be a fun and informative activity for you and your child!
