HOMEMADE HAIR GEL

Combine: 6 ounces hot distilled water 1/2 teaspoon plain gelatin (1 box will make at least 12 batches of gel and since you are not using this for anything internally you don’t have to use the organic kind if you don’t want to, but it would be better for you)

Stir In: 1 tablespoon 100% pure, organic aloe vera juice 1/8 teaspoon 100% pure vitamin E oil 15 drops rosemary essential oil

Pour mixture into a spray bottle and pop into the fridg to allow it to set up. You can get a new spray bottle or use a recycled one.

Use this as you would regular hair gel on damp, towel dried hair. Store the gel in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.

If you want a stronger hold, add more gelatin (up to a teaspoon total) and use a squeeze bottle. You can also use less gelatin (1/4 teaspoon total) for a lighter hold.

Just for your info here are the benefits of the products in this gel : Distilled Water – doesn’t have any of the chemicals, minerals or microbes that could cause damage to hair or discolor it (chlorine). And for this product it may also help extend the shelf life.

Plain Gelatin – taking organic, grass-fed gelatin internally has tons of health benefits, but for gel you can use cheap stuff you find at the store since it is for a topical application. BUT, it is still on your skin so…….. Gelatin gives this its’ hold. As said before, more or less for stronger or less hold.

100% pure, organic aloe vera juice – along with its’ moisturizing properties that help keep things frizz free and shiny, aloe vera juice is full of active enzymes that have anti-inflammatory benefits. When applied topically to the scalp, it can moisturize and sooth an itchy scalp. It also has anti-fungal benefits that are great for taming dandruff. Aloe vera juice is alkaline which is perfect for balancing the pH of the scalp, helping improve hair growth and the scalp environment. In this product it also helps extend the shelf life. 100% pure vitamin E oil – an antioxidant, when applied to hair and scalp it can help repair damage to the follicles and reduce inflammation encouraging hair growth. And here, it helps extend the shelf life again.

Rosemary Essential Oil – besides giving this gel a wonderful scent, rosemary is known to help stimulate hair follicles by increasing blood flow to renew hair growth and to help with hair loss.
