PEDROZZI SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION VETERANS SCHOLARSHIPS DEADLINE: April 28, 2010 @ 5 pm

There are a total of TEN (10) $1000 scholarships available for student-veterans enrolled at Las Positas College who graduated from a high school in Livermore. Must be currently enrolled at Las Positas College and transferring to an accredited 4-year institution or continuing at Las Positas College in Fall 2010.

Must Complete/Submit per Scholarship Applied For:

1. Application.

2. A brief essay (250 word minimum) – Please address one of the two following questions. We encourage you to take some time in addressing the question you select. All essays will remain confidential.

 How has your military service affected, changed, and impacted your goals pertaining to your education, career, and future plans. How has Las Positas College helped you obtain these goals?

 We anticipate an increase of new returning veterans attending Las Positas for the fall 2010 semester. Through your experience attending Las Positas College, how can the Veterans First Program better assist new incoming veterans with their transition into the college?

3. Provide proof of being a graduate from a high school in Livermore (diploma, high school transcripts, etc.)

4. Unofficial LPC Transcript

5. DD214 with honorable discharge, general discharge under honorable condition, or medical discharge. ERD (enlisted record brief) for reservist if a DD214 was not available.

Application Packet must submitted no later than April 28, 2010 at 5:00pm to Veterans Office in Building 1300 to be considered for the scholarship.

Scholarship Winners will be notified by: May 7, 2010. Las Positas Scholarships for Veterans are available through the Veterans First Program and will be awarded to Veterans who are pursuing a certificate, AA/AS degree, and/or transfer degree program at Las Positas College. The scholarship program honors those who served in any branch of the United States Armed Services.
