COURSE DESCRIPTION

The second year of IB Biology involves connecting the main ideas from last year to more applications in the new material. We focus on application and interruption of processes, more in depth human and animal physiology , and more individual work with the IA. The IB Biology Options (Option A, Option B) will be completed this year. Attention and time will also be given to preparing for the IB exams, which consist of Paper 1( Multiple choice questions), Paper 2( Data base questions: interpreting given information and relating it to previous knowledge) and Paper 3 (Extended response). http://www.ibo.org/programmes/diploma-programme/curriculum/sciences/biology/

EXPECTATIONS AND GOALS

This course is also challenging for students. Students must continue their learning to process, assimilate and organize their information at a much faster pace. Students will continue very good study habits as well as thorough test preparation, and will learn to form productive study groups with their peers. Students will continue to come prepared to class with their materials, complete homework as assigned, and participate in class activities and labs. Students will have a respectful and responsible attitude with their teachers and classmates. Work should be turned in on time and should be complete. Deadlines are of special importance this year. IA due dates are set by IB and are not negotiable.
