The Mission: Ensure Every Tri State Child Enjoys Christmas

November 29, 2010 For Immediate Release

B-105 AND USMC CAMP FOR KIDS THE MISSION: ENSURE EVERY TRI STATE CHILD ENJOYS CHRISTMAS

Cincinnati – The WUBE (Cincinnati’s Country … B-105) Morning Show, Chris Carr & Company (Chris Carr, Statt and Maverick) will join forces with the local United States Marines Corps Reserve Unit to collect new, unwrapped toys for this year’s Toys For Tots program. The radio team, along with the Marines, will literally camp-out at Turfway Park in Florence, Kentucky for 54 consecutive hours accepting donations.

“Camp Carr” will be set up at 0600 (6:00 a.m.) on Thursday, December 2. “Camp Carr” will break on Saturday, December 4 at noon. During this time, not only will Chris, Statt and Maverick be collecting gifts, they will also be put through a series of Marine Corps drills to spur more donations. That is, if certain goals are met, sit-ups, chin-ups or push-ups will be expected. Marines will “assist” in their unique Boot Camp way.

“I’m excited to be a part of Camp Carr that will provide smiles and joy for Cincinnati kids in need this holiday season,” said Chris Carr. “I have two little boys, Statt has two little girls and Maverick is a proud grandfather. We all realize the importance of the Christmas giving spirit and we can’t wait to watch the people of Cincinnati make so many dreams come true for underprivileged children this year. Let the true magic of Christmas begin this Thursday and let no child go without a toy this year!”

“B-105 is very proud of its 19 year commitment with the Marines and Toys For Tots,” added Grover Collins, WUBE Program Director. “This year we all decided again to try to do more for this great cause and try to help out even more families in the Tri State who are in need. ‘Camp Carr’ is a great way to have fun with Chris, Statt and Maverick while at the same time work with the Marines to put more smiles on more children’s faces this year than ever before!”
