The Parties overlap in the retail supply of upholstered living room furniture in bricks-and-mortar stores and online across the UK. 4. The CMA believes that online sales exercise some constraint on the bricks- and-mortar sales of upholstered living room furniture, although there may be limits to the competitive interaction between these two distribution channels. The CMA therefore considered competition between bricks-and-mortar retailers and competition between online retailers, both together and separately. 1 5. With regard to bricks-and-mortar competition, as the CMA could not rule out that the Parties vary some aspects of their competitive offering locally, the CMA assessed the effects of the Merger in the local areas where the Parties’ stores overlap.
