TITLE: TV TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Video Production, or Liberal Arts preferred 2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in a cable television environment. 3. Technical knowledge of TV studio production from development of concept to final product. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Department may find appropriate and acceptable. 5. A sense of humor and a proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with all staff members and with the larger educational community.
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Educational Technology & Instructional Media & Educational TV Specialist Director. SUPERVISES: Assigned students and any assigned paraprofessionals as appropriate. JOB GOAL: To maintain the Plymouth Public Schools TV Production Studio as an instructional support for teachers and students seeking to integrate TV production technologies into the instructional program as well as providing for live TV coverage of School Committee and other activities as requested.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): 1. Assist in maintaining studio and field equipment in conjunction with existing service contracts. 2. Assist in preparation, load-in, set-up and strike of studio as well as field productions. 3. Schedules and coordinates all aspects of the program such as studio time, audio, video edit suites and portable field equipment. Film events within the district and edit finished productions accordingly for airing and online. 4. Troubleshoot technical problems and repair broken equipment for video and audio equipment 5. Perform the proper professional installation, operation, and maintenance of video production equipment. 6. Facilitate mobile production, power requirements, and structural integrity of equipment. 7. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Develop and maintain all programming functions such as program logs. 8. Oversee all aspects of production, in studio and field, and encourage their proper completion. Facilitate and coordinate production crews. 5.1.13
9. Work independently on assigned projects. 10. Work cooperatively with other staff, outside technicians and management. 11. Supervises or performs preventive maintenance, installations, design, and/or fabrication of video systems. 12. Performs such other related tasks and assumes such other related responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the program manager.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200 day work year with variable 8 hour days including some days of longer duration when evening broadcasting is required.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established by the School Committee on the evaluation of professional personnel.
SALARY: To be commensurate with annual salary schedule approved by the School Committee for unaffiliated staff.
