2. Under "Find" click on Course Reserves, which will direct you to the Ares home page.
3. If OFF CAMPUS you will need to click on Remote Logon (top right corner of the page) and enter your Gatorlink username and password before accessing Ares.
a. After entering your Gatorlink and password and clicking Login, you will be directed to a page that states, “You have SUCESSFULLY LOGGED IN to the Library EZproxy.” Select the UF Smathers Libraries Column which will redirect you back to the library home page; repeat step 2.
4. Welcome to Ares. Under Ares Logon it states “First time users must create an account.” Click create an account if you have never used the system, or logon if you have previously created an account.
5. After you have created your account you will see your Ares Main Menu. To search for your classes click on the Search Classes link beneath the Student Tools column. Ares allows you to search by department, instructor, or course number.
6. Once you have found the class you need click “Add Class”, and the class will be added to your Ares page. Ares will immediately direct you to your Main Menu and you will see the listing of all the classes you have added.
a. Select the class of your choice and it will display all the available items your professor has placed on reserve.
7. Accessing the items is simple. Click on the title of the item you wish to view. The item window will open.
a. If the item is a PDF document or web link there will be an option to “view this item”, and this will open up the PDF or web link.
b. For items placed on hard copy reserve there will be a blue link that says “Click here for catalog record” in the notes field.
i. To pick up a hard copy item from the circulation desk, you must write down the TITLE and the CALL NUMBER (i.e. Video 1234, DVD 12, BF447.H48 2002, ENG4134 Smith) and bring them to the circulation desk.
In the event that you have any technical difficulty with the Ares web page, please email the Ares managers at [email protected]. We are happy to help you get the most out of Course Reserves!
