Senior High Memory Book (Travel Entry) Oh The Places I Will Go……………

Travel is awesome because it gives you…

Perspective. I personally think that our expectations for living in modern society are bordering on ridiculous. Travel gives us a chance to slow-down and have a little holiday from the fast pace and recognize what’s important.

New eyes. Every time I travel all the things I’ve made assumptions about in life change.

Education. Travel helps us learn more about the world we live in, the people, the places and our history.

Healing. Travel gives us space and time to heal and really helps us get a new pep in your step for life.

Confidence. There’s something awesome about going somewhere for the first time, the great fear of the unknown and coming out the other side. That to me is living life.

Habit Breaking. A lot of the time our current habits are attached to our current lives. Just going somewhere new can break those habits just by a simple location change.

Appreciation. Traveling to places less fortunate then where I come from always makes me appreciate what I have more.

Self-Discovery. Travel re-connects you with you. Feeling lost? Step away from where you are for a while and I guarantee you’ll learn something new about yourself.

Connection. The more you travel the more you realize that while lifestyles around the world are vastly different. As human beings we are all the same. Take away our over-thinking minds and at the core of our being, it’s easy to see we all want to feel connected, love and be loved.

Opportunity. Travel gives you a wonderful opportunity to encounter a wide variety of people from a vast array of cultures and e experiences. Each and every person you meet is an opportunity to grow and learn about yourself others and this great big world we are so lucky to share.

For this entry, I would like you to write about a few things. A. Based on the Ted Talk that we watched and your own ideas, I want you to tell why you feel travel is important. B. I want you to make a list of al of the places you have been. Of all of these places, which one was the best? Why? C. I want you to think really hard about all of the places you would like to go in your future. D. If time and money were non-issues, what would be your ultimate travel destination? Tell me a bit about that place and why \ it would be your number one choice.

 Look at the world map. Shade in all of the places you have been in one colour, choose another colour for all of the places you would like to go but reserve a third colour to shade in the number one choice on your list.  Don’t forget ti o include pictures of the places you have been and the places you want to travel to.
