EIGHTH GRADE GRADUATION: Thursday, June 14, 2012 The eighth grade graduation will take place on Thursday, June 14, at 7:00 pm at Crossroads Bible Church, 855 Old Huntingdon Pike. Graduation is a special time to recognize the achievements of the eighth graders. Everyone is welcome to attend. Even though graduates will wear graduation gowns, dress guidelines should be followed for clothing under the gowns: Girls: Dresses or skirts should have hemlines no more than 1” above the middle of the knee and modest necklines. Boys: Shirts, neckties, regular shoes (no sneakers), and dress pants should be worn. School hair guidelines should be carefully followed.

CGCA will have a reception immediately following the eighth grade graduation in the fellowship hall. Although there may be other celebrations or gatherings, this reception is the only school- sponsored activity. Nothing else that evening or any other day is to be construed as being a school-sponsored activity. If you have any questions, please give Mr. Howard a call at 215-725-3383.

2 nd POLICE DISTRICT – 8 th ANNUAL BIKE RIDE AND COMMUNITY DAY On Saturday, May 19, 2012 the 2nd Police District will be holding their 8th annual BIKE RIDE AND COMMUNITY DAY. The Bike Ride to “Stop The Violence”, in honor of Ken Hyers, will leave the parking lot of Target, 7400 Bustleton Avenue at 9 am. The ride will be about 10 miles through the streets of the 2nd District with an escort by the Police Department. The streets will be closed as riders pass, making the event safe. The purpose of the ride is to show a police presence and elicit cooperation between the community and police. Riders of all ages are welcome; however, we encourage parents to accompany younger riders. Please wear helmets. The ride will be about 2 hours, and we feel that it could be used to satisfy some of the COMMUNITY SERVICE requirements of the students. COMMUNITY DAY will take place in the TARGET parking lot from 10 am to 2 pm. A wealth of valuable information and events will be available for t children and adults including CHILD FINGERPRINTING, VIN ETCHING OF AUTOS, BIKE REGISTRATION, and DOCUMENT SHREDDING. In addition, members of the Philadelphia Police department’s K-9 SWAT, Major Crimes, Crime Scene Unit, DARE, Mounted Unit, Counter Terrorism, and others will be in attendance. Many City, State and Federal agencies and many of your elected officials will have valuable information available.
