Aerobic Dance Mrs. Cammauf

Policies & Procedures 1. Each student will be in the locker room at the time the bell rings or will be marked as late (unless possessing a valid pass).

2. Students are expected to change into appropriate gym attire (shorts/sweatpants: of appropriate size/length and without offensive writing or writing in inappropriate places, t-shirts/sweatshirts: no inappropriate language/slogans, socks, and sneakers). When we are dancing, sneakers will not be worn, but students should have socks on. Parents will be notified on the first dress-cut. On the second day of not changing, the student will receive a DETENTION and every day thereafter for not changing. THIS IS AN ELECTIVE, THEREFORE YOU WANT TO BE HERE!

3. There is to be NO JEWELRY worn during class! Preparation points will be deducted if these guidelines are not followed. If it is continual, the student will not be able to participate in activities.

4. After missing 4 classes, your grade will reflect each additional absence. Remember this is an elective; it is your choice to be here.

5. Only medical excuses from the doctor will be accepted. If the student is not participating in class, they will not be participating in an extracurricular activity either, i.e. Sports.

6. Any injuries must be reported to the teacher immediately.

7. NO INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE—attitude/cooperation points will be deducted.

Grading 1. Preparation, Participation, ABC (5 points/day) 70% Preparation-appropriate attire, no jewelry Participation-active involvement in the activity, trying their best Attitude/behavior/cooperation-appropriate attitude, displaying sportsmanship regardless of activity 2. Written Tests/Projects 30% -various culminating evaluations at completion of unit/course

Aerobic Dance—Course Syllabus Mrs. Cammauf

Description— This course offers a variety of modern and traditional dances from around the world that can be enjoyed at any age along with aerobic activities that can enhance a student’s physical fitness level. Students will experience different avenues of fitness and exercise to prolong lifelong fitness that they might not encounter during a traditional physical education class.
