2.01 CENTRAL MANGEMENT SYSTEM SOFTWARE OVERVIEW

A. Introduction ACTi Central Management System 2.0(CMS 2.0) is a Windows- based software that provides distributed network video surveillance solution with full functionality. This software allows user full flexibility to monitor and manage unlimited number of Network Video Recorders (ACTi NVR 3.0), real-time monitor unlimited video streaming devices, with rule-based services to trigger multiple schedules and events.

B. Basic Architecture ACTi CMS 2.0 is a typical web-based server/client system. In a video surveillance system architecture, the Server serves as a central management service provider, aimed to run 24/7 offering non-stop services for clients. A Client makes requests of monitoring video streams or playback recordings to Server, which can reside on the same computer with server program (as from local) or on another computer (as from remote). Server starts automatically as soon as the Server computer (where it is installed) boots up, and operates in the background without requiring login by administrator. It would provide services over the TCP/IP network to multiple Clients upon request through HTTP Protocol.

There are two types of Clients in CMS 2.0 system: Web Client and Workstation Client. Live view, PTZ, Playback, e-Map, event management and setup functions are available through Web Client and Workstation Client. 1. Web Client: the web interface to access CMS server without need of installing any client program to become a client. Logging in the CMS server is as simple as visiting a website through Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.

2. Workstation Client: the client application making accessing CMS server free from the use of browser .The workstation

includes a set of programs that provide interface between users and the CMS server.

C. Network Video Recorder Support The CMS server supported ACTi NVR 3.0 to monitor ACTi IP cameras and video encoders with the different resolution from VGA to 5M resolution and Audio, DI/DO, Motion Detection and PTZ. Maximum Number of NVR Servers: Unlimited software NVR 3.0 Maximum Number of Clients: 1 local, 5 remote (concurrent) Maximum Number of IP devices: Unlimited cameras and video encoders.

D. Account Management The system shall provide users account management, multi-level access permissions and be able to add user account from Microsoft Active Directory.

E. System Log The system log records the system information and users operations.

F. License ACTi CMS 2.0 can manage unlimited number of NVR servers. The maximum license is unlimited channel for IP devices.

G. Mobile solution Active Mobile Client is a free application to remotely access CMS 2.0 server on iPhone, iPad, iTouch and Android devices. It provides the following functions- live view, PTZ control, playback, event and time based search.

H. Software Installation and Upgrade The new release version shall be downloaded from ACTi website. To follow the instructions of Install Shield Wizard to proceed and complete the installation. The server would start its service right after installation completes, without the need to restart the server computer.

2.02 CENTRAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SOFTWARE FEATURES

A. Operating Modes. The CMS2 shall have three main screens of operations 1. Live View: Display live view from cameras and devices, perform PTZ operations with mouse or Joystick, view system log, receive alerts on the event panel, setup view layouts, perform manual recording or take a snapshot. 2. Playback: To find and playback existing recordings. Up to 100 channels can be played synchronously. Snapshots or video segments can be taken from playback files. Recorded files can also be exported to AVI format. 3. Setup: To configure user account, NVR 3.0 server and IP device setup, event setup, language setup and system-wide settings.

Provide the following minimum preview functions 1. Display Layout Mode: 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 16, 18, 24, 25, 35, 36, 48, 49, 64, 81, 100 and customized Layout. 2. View Manager: An interface to define display layouts and the pre- set cameras within layout in the public or private view. 3. View Patrol: Automatic switch between different views or devices 4. View Panel: Contains the list of pre-defined views for quick launch. 5. Layout Manager: An interface to define display layouts and the pre-set cameras within layouts; full-screen mode available 6. Device Panel: Drag and drop video source from device panel into display layout; display camera status on the panel. 7. Digital Zoom: Zoom in/out digitally by mouse scroll wheel. 8. Manual Recording / Snapshot: Instant recording to NVR 3.0 upon mouse click / Instant snapshot upon mouse click 9. Event Panel: Display NVR server event status upon insufficient disk space or upon device status or upon connection loss or recovery. 10. Two-way Audio: Audio sound from and to all the audio supported devices; audio broadcast to multiple devices at the same time. 11. Dual Stream Management: Live view of stream 1 or stream 2 of dual stream devices. 12. Instant Playback: Instant playback in live view window

C. e-Map Functions Provide the following minimum e-Map functions: 1. Layout: Area maps with camera icons; small live view windows; event trigger; switch different view 13. Map Switch and Tour: Manual switch and auto tour modes selectable. 14. Setup: E-Map image upload; camera positioning; vision angle and pointed direction of camera; view positioning. 15. PTZ mode: Mouse PTZ mode to control e-Map video streams.

D. PTZ Control Functions Provide the following minimum PTZ control functions:

1. PTZ Management: Provide management of pan, tilt, zoom controls; speed control; both buttons and mouse controls. 16. Preset Points and Tours: Activate NVR preset points or auto tours between preset points. 17. USB Joystick Control: Provide for PTZ control of speed dome via a joystick connected to a PC USB port. 18. Default Protocol: Auto-detect camera’s PTZ protocol. Available protocols: ACTi, Pelco-D, Pelco-P, Dynacolor, Visca.

E. Playback Provide the following minimum search playback functions: 1. Recording Search: Search video recordings by time, event, channel from multiple NVRs, and listed as clickable thumbnails for full-size view and snapshot download. 19. Playback Control: Continuous forward and backward playback with speeds 1x/2x/4x/8x or frame-by-frame; pause; stop. 20. Synchronized Playback: Up to 100 channels of synchronized playback at the same time. 21. Manual Snapshot: Instant snapshot from playback upon mouse click 22. Digital Zoom: Zoom in/out digitally by mouse scroll wheel. 23. Video Export: Export video clips in AVI or RAW format; text overlay supported.

Storage configuration on NVR 3.0 server: Recording folder name and location is changeable; Configure the system log keep days; Select the storage hard drives and iSCSI NAS for recording 33. Device configuration on NVR 3.0 server: Support Auto search and Add devices manually; Device properties can be synchronized automatically; Configure Device Settings: Video attributes, Motion settings, PTZ function, Recording settings and Event function. 34.System configuration on NVR 3.0 server: E-mail and SMTP settings; FTP server settings; Display performance settings; OSE settings; Export snapshot and video settings; Customize user Interface for live view and playback; License registration; Language import and export; NVR server backup and restore

I. Users, Language and System management Provide the following minimum functions for these functions:

User management: Unlimited number of users, multi-level user permission, customizable permissions of user groups, and adding user accounts from Active Directory. 35.Language: Multi-language supported 36.Language Import/Export: Possibility to import or export language files for convenient local language management 37.Customizable User Interface: Define the layout of user interface for live view and playback. 38.License online and offline registration 39.Backup and Restore CMS settings

2.03 CENTRAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM HARDWARE

A. Server Requirements. CMS2 server shall run on a system with the following minimum requirements. 1. CPU Processor: Minimum requirements for local display are Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz for 1-1,600 channels and Intel i5 2.4 GHz for 1,601- unlimited channels. Recommended requirements for local display are Intel i5 2.4 GHz for 1-1,600 channels and Intel Core i7-920 2.67 GHz for 1,601 -unlimited channels. 2. RAM: 4 GB 3. Network: Ethernet (1000 Base-R recommended) 4. Operation System: a. Windows 7 b. Windows Server 2008 c. Windows Server 2003 SP2 d. Windows XP Professional SP3 5. Browser: Internet Explorer 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0 (32 bit application) 6. Display Resolution: Minimum 1024 X 768

CMS2 Workstation client and Web Client shall run on a system with the following minimum requirements. 1.
