. The Mainichi Shimbun Washington, D.C. Summer 2002 Internship Worked with the foreign correspondents of the Tokyo-based Japanese daily newspaper. Published a couple of stories during the internship.

. Morgan Stanley Tokyo 2001 Department of Corporate Communication Exposed to public relations with a journalistic view. Researched and complied media items regarding Morgan Stanley. Arranged meetings and interviews with the press. Assisted promotions staff with selection of advertisements for particular markets.

. The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tokyo 1998-2000 International Division, Editor-in-Chief of The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Guide, a classified publication Initiated practice of on-line subscription. Designed and streamlined inquiry procedure for web sites of The Business Guide on the Internet. Expanded business relationships through communications with Turkey and Hong Kong chambers. Increased contents by forty percent. Improved quality that led to a drop in the number of lost subscribers. Stimulated Japanese importing/exporting business through the trade bulletin. The New Internationalist (NI) Japan distributed, published by Intilincs Ltd Tokyo 1998- 1999 Staff Translator Assisted editorial staff in launching NI Japan, the supplemental bilingual magazine for The New Internationalist (NI), a British-based NPO monthly magazine. Translated the keynote article in the publication of NI into Japanese such as ‘Jeans’, Issue 302 in June 1998, ‘Money’, Issue 306 in October 1998. Accompanied staff reporters on interviews for ‘Reporting from Japan’, an original story about the situation in Japan regarding the NI theme.

. Leader’s Eye edited by Degico Co. Tokyo 1998-1999 Staff Reporter/Editor Edited ‘World Report’ section in the business magazine. Responsibility ranged from translation, fact-check, research, layout and to finding contributors in various countries. Had a column of ‘Women in Enterprises’. Interviewed senior class businesswomen such as Yukiko Hori, a manager of Enoshima Aquarium in Japan and wrote stories for the column.
