BRADFORD CITY COUNCIL – OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES

1. Q. How many OT departments are there and your designation ?, (ie: Community, hospital) Bradford Council has one Occupational Therapy department based with Adults Services, Access Assessment and Support. However the staff rotate through service areas as explained below and there is a dedicated service to Children and Young People (CYPOT). In Occupational Therapy terms it is considered to be a ‘community’ service.

2. Q Do you have OT’s funded by the NHS working as locums, if so how many and which teams? No. We have no staff funded through the NHS and no Locums.

3. Q What type of OT departments are there i.e. adults/ children/equipment/ blue badge? Occupational Therapy services cover – Central Access Team (Adult Services has a central contact point – signposting to other services, referral screening, direct provision), Clinic (Equipment), Home Assessment (Housing and Adaptations), Transitions (based with the Physical Disabilities Care Management/Social Work Team), Children, Review of Care Packages, Moving and Handling.

4. Q How many Permanent OT’s in the department? 28 – including managers

5. Q How many Temp/Locum OT’s in the department as of 19th October 2012? None

6. Q How much was the spend on locum OT’s by department from 1st Jan 2012 to 19th Oct 2012? Nothing

7. Q Do you recruit for senior OT staff as a locum? No

8. Q What is the management structure of the OT service?
