President's Report (Jennifer Krause)

May Fair : May Fair will be held on May 20th this year from 10am-2 pm. . We will need lots of volunteers to pull off this event.

The company we used for inflatable's has gone out of business. He is in the process of transferring accounts to a company in Lancaster. The company is called 3 Monkeys. Once we see what the costs are, we will make a decision on the Bouncy House items. We will be having the Video game truck again this year. Food Venders are being researched. Joseph Rudy is a possible one They will donate 20-25% back to us. Discussion about an ice cream truck.

Movie Night: We will be pushing movie night now into April. Considering Trolls or Secret Life of Pets. Still waiting on the movie license to come in.

Dining for Dollars: February 9th: Chuck E. Cheese We need a March and April venue. ? Possibly do another sub sale in March. May will be Infinto's and June 8th will be Sweet Frog.

Valentine's Day Party: They will be held on Thursday, February 16th.

School Closed: There will be no school on February 17th and 20th.

Swim Night: (Reporting for Julie Bartol): Swim night date will be on Sunday March 19th from 6:15- 8:15pm. Tickets will be $5 /person.

5th Grade fundraising: A great amount of discussion was held concerning the fact that the 5th grade class has not done any fundraising for their field trip, t-shirts, or graduation party. Emails have been exchanged from the teachers to the PTO The PTO will be helping with the commencement ceremony as usual. Since none of the 5th grade parents has stepped up to do anything, this year the class will only get the budgeted field trip amounts. A lot of it depends on the class, and the parents who are willing to commit their time and resources. This year's class, evidently will not be doing anything in addition to the commencement ceremony, regular year-end party and a local field trip.

Treasurer's Report/Budget- Donna Spayd

Treasurer's Report:

Current Balance as of February 6th is $4, 287.96 .

We are still waiting to get the holiday shop expenses to be cleared.

As of the last statement, we had an unknown deposit for $52.02. It was not ours and the bank made an error and it should have gone into another business account. This was corrected by the bank on January 9th.

The treasurer's report was approved by Jonathan Hann and seconded by Danielle Markle.

Committee Reports

Box Tops : (Erin Brown) : Final collection will be in March. Please label the amounts in the bag, and put the teacher's name on it. This way each class can get credit for the amounts they've collected. Mrs. Foura's class is currently in the lead. We brought in $298.40 for the last collection.

A+ Rewards (Theresa Gibney): Program date starts October 7-March 16, 2017. As of February 2nd, we now have 84 individuals who have signed up and the YTD total earned for the first 4 months is: $. 474.80 * This amount is about $50 more than last year to date.

Scholarship: (Theresa Gibney): Scholarships have been printed and delivered to CD East, Central Dauphin, Bishop McDevitt, and DC Tech. They were hand delivered to save us on postage, however, there will be a large copy fee for these. The next part of the project is to get it on both CD websites and CD websites as well as in the newspaper. Evidently a letter was sent from the district concerning scholarships which I did not receive. The deadline had to be changed to correspond with deadlines for the guidance offices. New scholarship deadline is April 7th. It is about 3 weeks ahead of last year.

Senior Night:(Theresa Gibney): Senior night is a time when the graduating class of 2017 and their parents are invited back to Lawnton to open their time capsules, and watch a video of their time here. They can see their teachers and tell them their future plans. This year, it will be held on March 30th at 6:30pm. We will need 2-3 volunteers on the night of the event to help with refreshments and set up. Jen Krause volunteered for this, but we still could use 2 more. Invitations for the schools are currently in the works and will be hand delivered to the schools in order to save postage. A sign-up sheet will be posted for the teachers here at Lawnton at the beginning of next month.

Yearbook/Sub Sale: (Donna Spayd): Yearbook cost is $12.00. Pamphlets will go home regarding yearbook sales. Everything is on 1 flyer. If an individual sells 6 subs, they can receive a free year book. Sub sale orders are due this Friday, February 10th. Sub pick up will be on February 21st. It's a great way to earn a free year book. *Any additional funds raised will be utilized to purchase additional yearbooks for the teachers.

Bingo Night (Erin Brown): The Bingo night will be moved back until March 10th from 6:30-8:30pm.

Skating Night (Jonathan Hann): Sunday, February 26th at Doc's Family Fun Center will be a fun night of roller skating. 4-15-6:15pm. Tickets costs $5 and skate rental is $3. He has elected not to do pre-sale tickets this year. You can just pay at the door.

New Business

Card Box Fundraiser (Erin Brown): Before the holidays, Erin showed us these really neat card box sets. There were sets of blank cards and printed cards. $15/set. It ends up being a very nice deal with the cards coming down to $1 per card. These would make great gifts for family members. We are thinking of doing this as a March fundraiser.

Dining for Dollars: Are they really worth all the time effort we go through to set -up the events when we have such poor turn outs? Discussion about other venues like the new Chipotle, Arby's, doing another sub sale, and Chick Filet. At Chick Filet, they want your organization to not only man the event, but also to clear tables too.

PTO Board Member Nominations: March will be the time when nominations will be held for the PTO board positions. The bylaws were read concerning who is eligible. The person who would be running needs to be able to attend most PTO meetings, and be a member in good standing, and have chaired a committee. Discussion about getting the word out to reach out to our PTO members. You could post something on the PTO page, do flyers, maybe have Mrs. Bruno send it out for us?

Adjournment:

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm. It was motioned by: Donna Spayd and seconded by Theresa Gibney.

The next meeting of the Lawnton PTO will be on Monday, March 6 , 2017 @ 6:30 pm.
