WORLD-RENOWNED INTERIOR DESIGNERS TO HEAD PANEL DISCUSSION AT THE 2014 ANTIQUES AND GARDEN SHOW OF NASHVILLE

Panelists to talk newest trends, follow discussion with book signing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Jan. 6, 2014 — Celebrated designers Alexa Hampton, Jennifer Boles, Mario Buatta and Nina Campbell are joining forces this winter as part of the 24th annual Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville. Individually remarkable and collectively a powerhouse, these distinguished designers and authors will participate in a panel discussion on interior design and the hottest trends for 2014.

The Designer Panel Lecture will be held at the Music City Center on Sat., Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $50 at www.antiquesandgardenshow.com.

“Whether you have your own eye for design or simply love beautiful spaces, this lecture is a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for attendees,” said event co-chair Mindy Jacoway.

“These panelists bring over a century’s worth of combined experience, and to have them all under one roof engaging with one another will undoubtedly spawn unique and creative insights into next year’s design trends,” added co-chair Vee Vee Scott.

Alexa Hampton, owner of Mark Hampton, LLC, will be moderating the discussion. Honored in House Beautiful’s list of “America’s 100 Best Designers,” she is carrying out her late father’s design legacy. Hampton’s traditional, classic and eclectic flair can be found in homes, apartments, private jets and yachts across the world. She boasts the title of being the only ever female cast member of PBS’s This Old House, and designs her own line of home décor including fabrics, furniture and bedding for a wide range of companies. She is also a contributing columnist for The Wall Street Journal’s “Off Duty” section and is the author of The Language of Interior Design and Decorating in Detail.

Jennifer Boles, dubbed “blogosphere darling” by Departures magazine, is the award- winning author of the wildly popular “The Peak of Chic” blog and a contributing editor for House Beautiful.

Prompted by a deep passion for writing, history, and design, Boles left the business world and began penning “The Peak of Chic” in 2006. Ever since, the Atlanta native has been documenting her style perspective on a range of subjects, including design history, trends and historical homes. Boles has been featured in The New York Times, Town & Country, Elle Décor and Array and published her first book, House Beautiful Fabrics for Your Home in 2010. Her second book, In With the Old, was published earlier this year.

Mario Buatta is one of the world’s most legendary interior stylists, designing for the likes of Barbara Walters, Mariah Carey and former presidents. He is widely known for his expertly crafted “undecorated look.”

After studying architecture at New York’s Cooper Union and attending Parson’s School of Design in Europe, Buatta began his own decorating company in 1963. Widely regarded as “the Prince of Chintz” for his affinity for floral fabrics and English flair, Buatta has become an American design institution, focusing his aesthetic efforts on balancing contemporary and antique furnishings to provide maximum comfort. His book, Mario Buatta: Fifty Years of American Interior Design, features a look into his vibrant collection of designs.

Nina Campbell, London-based but globally respected, is an interior designer to the stars. She has tailored rooms for some of the world’s most impressive dignitaries and celebrities, such as the Duke and Duchess of York, the Queen of Denmark and Rod Stewart.

Campbell established her own design firm in 1974, and has since left a worldwide influence on luxury home and commercial décor. Passionate about tailoring every design scheme to a client’s personal lifestyle, her interiors resonate with both the young and old. She also designs a collection of fabrics and wallpaper, and her retail store for home accessories and gifts has become a sought-after fixture on London’s Walton Street. Campbell’s recently launched book, Interiors, features the private homes of her clients.

The featured designers will host a book signing immediately following the discussion. Books are available for purchase at www.antiquesandgardenshow.com and will also be sold at the show.
