Un- der Wynn's direction, the Huskies have steadily improved while rebuilding over the last three years, posting an overall record of 31-61 at UW and an overall record of 168-180 in 11 seasons as a head coach. Washington continued its upward trajectory in the 2019-20 season, posting a 13-17 overall record including a 5-13 mark in the Pac-12 -- the most wins in both categories over the previous three seasons. The Huskies pulled off a number of impressive wins during the season including an impressive victory on senior day over No. 8 UCLA. Washington also knocked off Iowa during a tournament in Puerto Rico in November, capping off a solid week which saw the team go 3-0 to win the tournament. The Huskies continued to shine on defense, ranking finishing in the top 40 nationally in steals and placing in the top two in the Pac-12 in steals and turnovers forced. Senior Amber Melgoza once again earned All-Pac-12 honors for the Huskies under Wynn. The 2018-19 season saw the Huskies record an 11-21 overall record while playing the 14th-toughest schedule based on average opponent winning percentage according to herhoopstats.com. Washington played 17 games against team which made it to the post-season including facing nine opponents which reached the NCAA Tour- nament. Wynn helped guide the Huskies to an impressive run through the Pac-12 Tournament to end the year. Washington entered as the No. 11 seed in the tournament, but knocked off the No. 6 seed Utah 64-54 in the first round. The Huskies then pulled off a massive upset, beating the No. 3 seed (and No. 11 ranked) Oregon State 68- 67 to reach the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals for just the third time in program history. Wynn’s first season with the Huskies was a tough, rebuilding campaign which culminated in a 7-23 overall re- cord. She inherited a team which had lost over 85 percent of its scoring and rebounding from the previous year Head Coach Jody Wynn and had just one player which had started a collegiate game prior to the start of the season. Fourth Season at UW - 12th Overall Despite being undersized and undermanned, the Huskies still led the Pac-12 in turnovers forced, forcing 17.80 per game. Washington also ranked third in steals with 9.3 per game and was second in three-pointers made at 8.5 Coaching Resume made per contest. Alma Mater During her tenure at the Beach, Wynn has coached 16 All-Big West selections, one Big West Freshman of the USC - 1996 Year and one Big West Defensive Player of the Year. She has also had four individuals named to the league’s Bachelor’s Degree (Exercise Science) all-freshman team and five selected to the conference’s all-tournament team. Wynn’s players have also been successful in the classroom as she has mentored one CoSIDA Academic All-American and 18 Big West All-Ac- Pepperdine - 2000 ademic picks. Master’s Degree (Education) Prior to being named the Head Coach at Long Beach State, Wynn had 13 years of collegiate coaching experience under her belt. She spent five seasons as the senior assistant, recruiting coordinator and head of scouting at Playing Career USC, where she was in charge of bringing in four nationally-ranked recruiting classes, including the No. 1-ranked USC - 1993-1996 group in 2006. On the court, Wynn coached seven All-Pac-10 performers, a Pac-12 freshman of the year and a WNBA draft pick. Twitter Handle Wynn entered the coaching ranks in 1996-97 as an assistant at Pepperdine. During her playing career, the Trojans compiled a record of 79-35 (.693), won the 1994 Pac-10 Conference championship and made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Wynn was also a prep standout at Brea Olinda High School in Brea, Calif., where she guided the Ladycats to three California state championships. She earned CIF-Southern Section and Orange County Player of the Year accolades in 1991 and 1992, while also being tabbed a USA Today and Streets & Smith honorable mention All-American.
