Applying for Federal Assistance  President Bush has declared Johnson County a disaster area, enabling Johnson County residents who are victims of the flood to apply for federal assistance. Residents may apply for assistance using one of the following methods: o Calling (800) 621-FEMA (3362) or hearing and speech impaired may call TTY (800) 462- 7585. . Phones are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week o Apply online at www.fema.gov . Dumpsters  Johnson County Solid Waste Management is providing dumpsters for flood victim residents of Johnson County to use to dispose of any damaged items or storm debris. Dumpsters are currently placed at the following locations:  Franklin: Johnson County Fairgrounds entrance off US 31 (debris and appliances)  Franklin: Johnson County Park at Schoolhouse & Rodeo roads (debris and appliances)  Greenwood: Fire Station 53, 850 S. Mullinix Road (debris only)  Greenwood: Former WRT Fire Station at 1086 S. Miscellaneous  Franklin Residents - please continue to put trash on sidewalks for trash pick-up. Please do not put trash under trees as the trash trucks cannot pick up the items in these locations.  All Johnson County residents outside of Franklin – please contact your trash pick-up companies to verify details about pick-up  Veterans affected by the flood – you may call the Office of Veterans Affairs at (317) 346-4563 for assistance  Unemployment benefits – Individuals whose work place has been shut down due to flooding or if an individual cannot get to work because of washed out roads may be eligible for unemployment benefits o Contact Work One Express of Johnson County at (317) 738-5531
