Rick Walker, lot 2040 mentioned the lake cleanup on May 22 and asked for help from the membership.
Walker expressed concern about green algae blooms on the lake, as well as the possibility that someone may have used chemicals to control the algae without permission from the Association. He also mentioned that we had a large winter kill of shad in the lake.
4 Ed Larsen, lot 1640 stated that he was checked by security while fishing on Community Lot 14.
Larsen also asked if the time of the annual election could be posted on the Web site calendar.
Troy stated that he would look into it. He reminded Ed that a notice of the annual election identifying the date and time appeared with the proxy information he received in the mail, plus additional announcements appeared in the Beaver Lake News, in the news section of the Web site, and on the marquee.
Jeff McDaniel of lot 1457 asked why the end of Cove M is not being dredged.
Troy explained that there is a large rock shelf for the last 80 – 100 feet of that cove that prohibits the dredge from getting closer. The deepest that area will ever be is 1'6" deep.
Bohan suggested the excavator be used there via the adjacent access lot.
Troy explained that excavators cannot remove solid rock ledges.
Several people from the NW cove wondered when Cove M would be dredged.
Troy stated that factors such as the volume of rain affect the dredge schedule, and schedules remain flexible to accommodate prevailing conditions.
Dan O’Brien announced that a carp tournament will be held this weekend. He encouraged everyone to participate in the fun.
O’Brien also announced that this summer the Fishing Club will host a Fishing Day. The club intends to invite disabled veterans to come down and enjoy a day of fishing.
Motion was made by Battreall, seconded by Goller to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
