<p> Beaver Lake Association Board of Directors May 19, 2011 7:30 P.M.</p><p>Roll Call:</p><p>Ron Reineke – President Present Dennis Goltz – Vice President Present Dave Goller – Treasurer Present Sandy Battreall – Secretary Present Fred Becker Absent Bill Bohan Present Russ Parmer Present</p><p>Approval of the April 2011 Board Minutes</p><p>Motion was made by Battreall, seconded by Goltz to approve the April 21, 2011 Board of Directors minutes. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>Building Inspector’s Report Reported by Ron Reineke</p><p>Ron reported that in April 2011, eighteen miscellaneous permits and one house permit were issued. The total 2011 new home permits is two. </p><p>Motion was made by Goller, seconded by Bohan to approve the April 2011 Building Inspector’s report. Motion carried unanimously. </p><p>Committee Reports</p><p>Appeals Committee No Meeting Held</p><p>1 AdHoc Committee No Meeting Held</p><p>Election Committee Ron Reineke reported </p><p>The annual election was held on May 15, 2011 and the following are the results from the election. Dave Goller 264 Fred Becker 241 Russ Parmer 275 Ronald Westman 106</p><p>Write- in candidates: Judy Wimmer 5 James Rouch 1 Chris Toth 1 Don Mahr 1 Todd Wangler 1 Walter Jensen 1 Susan Casne 1 John Kremhke 3 Dan Forehead 1 John Alexander 4 Don Tex 1 Scott Houston 3 Mark Putnam 1 Jim Furlong 1 Doug Scheiman 1 Mike Wengert 1</p><p>New officers: Reineke, President; Goltz, Vice President; Battreall, Secretary; Goller, Treasurer</p><p>Property and Safety Committee Reported by Rick Croasdale Croasdale congratulated the newly elected Board members. </p><p>2</p><p>Croasdale reported:  The work at the boat ramp is progressing.  There are some culverts that need marked.  There will be a spring cleanup day on May 22nd.  The committee elected Ms. Dee Franks as Vice Chair of the Property & Safety Committee.  The vehicle replacement program is being reviewed.  The Open House was a success.</p><p>Motion was made by Goltz, seconded by Battreall to approve Dee Franks as Vice Chair of the Property & Safety Committee. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>Motion was made by Goller, seconded by Bohan to approve the May 2011 Property and Safety Committee Minutes. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>Lake, Habitat, and Fisheries Committee Reported by Dan OBrien</p><p>The Committee unanimously rejected a proposed fish cleaning station at the lake.</p><p>The Committee appointed the chairperson as the designated liaison to work with the Game & Parks representative on fish stocking issues.</p><p>The 2011 fish stocking plan was discussed. The next step is to order fish.</p><p>Motion was made by Battreall, seconded by Goller to approve ordering fish. Motion carried unanimously. </p><p>Motion was made by Bohan, seconded by Goltz to release the previously approved funds for the order. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>Goller thanked the Committee for the time and effort they put toward explaining the walleye stocking plan. </p><p>Motion was made by Bohan, seconded by Goller to approve the May, 2011 Lake, Habitat, and Fisheries Committee minutes. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>3 Utility Committee Reported by Rick Croasdale</p><p>Croasdale reported:  There was one water leak in April.  A filter press for the wastewater plant was discussed.  The utilities open house was a success and there were approximately 50 people that attended.</p><p>Motion was made by Goller, seconded by Bohan to approve the May, 2011 Utility Committee minutes. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>Finance Committee Reported by Lou Soukup Soukup reported:  Revenue for April was $2107 less than plan.  Overall profit and loss for March was $1,500 worse than plan. Vehicle repairs, professional services, and dredge expenses were the main expenses over plan.  Revenue year-to-date is good at $6700 over plan, but we are $19,600 worse than budget overall year-to-date.  Balance sheet showed available cash of $293,400.  Capital items included $1654 for the 3rd lane at the boat ramp and $2000 for the Coconuts purchase.  Past Due Accounts were at $71,000 – down $15,600 from April. </p><p>Motion was made by Goller, seconded by Battreall to approve the May, 2011 Finance Committee Minutes.</p><p>Security Report</p><p>In April 2011, there were 9 warnings and 10 citations issued.</p><p>Old Business (None)</p><p>New Business</p><p>Rick Walker, lot 2040 mentioned the lake cleanup on May 22 and asked for help from the membership.</p><p>Walker expressed concern about green algae blooms on the lake, as well as the possibility that someone may have used chemicals to control the algae without permission from the Association. He also mentioned that we had a large winter kill of shad in the lake. </p><p>4 Ed Larsen, lot 1640 stated that he was checked by security while fishing on Community Lot 14.</p><p>Larsen also asked if the time of the annual election could be posted on the Web site calendar.</p><p>Troy stated that he would look into it. He reminded Ed that a notice of the annual election identifying the date and time appeared with the proxy information he received in the mail, plus additional announcements appeared in the Beaver Lake News, in the news section of the Web site, and on the marquee.</p><p>Jeff McDaniel of lot 1457 asked why the end of Cove M is not being dredged.</p><p>Troy explained that there is a large rock shelf for the last 80 – 100 feet of that cove that prohibits the dredge from getting closer. The deepest that area will ever be is 1'6" deep.</p><p>Bohan suggested the excavator be used there via the adjacent access lot. </p><p>Troy explained that excavators cannot remove solid rock ledges. </p><p>Several people from the NW cove wondered when Cove M would be dredged.</p><p>Troy stated that factors such as the volume of rain affect the dredge schedule, and schedules remain flexible to accommodate prevailing conditions. </p><p>Dan O’Brien announced that a carp tournament will be held this weekend. He encouraged everyone to participate in the fun.</p><p>O’Brien also announced that this summer the Fishing Club will host a Fishing Day. The club intends to invite disabled veterans to come down and enjoy a day of fishing.</p><p>Motion was made by Battreall, seconded by Goller to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.</p><p>5</p>
