Course Objectives:  Student will gain knowledge in anatomy systems: Skeletal, Nervous, Muscular, and Cardiovascular.  Students will learn current medical terminology and apply them when using sports medicine techniques  Students will gain CPR/AED and First AID re/certification through American Red Cross

Attendance Policy:  Student is expected to be present and on time to class. If student will miss class, he/she is expected to inform the teacher of excused absences. If student is absent, he/she is expected to turn in assignments on time unless arranged otherwise.  Absent and tardy policy will follow school guidelines.

Grading Policy:  Any cheating of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in a “0” on the assignment/test.  Students will be graded on the following scale: o Test – 30%  Test corrections will be done only the day after to be eligible to receive half credit back o Quiz – 20%  10 question quiz is given every Wednesday unless told otherwise  Retakes are allowed once per quiz and can be done the following week o 21st Century Skills – 20%  Late work will be deducted 10% off of assignment grade o Notebooks – 15%  Notebooks will be collected before each test for credit.  These can include daily entry tasks and/or daily summaries o Students should be summarizing notes taken or vocabulary learned in the notebooks at the end of every day o Project – 15%  All projects are done in class

Lab:  The student has the option to participate in an afterschool lab held in the Athletic Training Room. Each student will be able to receive hands on learning while working side by side with me to help prepare the athletes for practice and games. They will receive .5 school credits for this portion and will get a pass/fail grade at the end of the semester. 90 hours of after school job shadowing, surgery observations, sport participation and study hours will contribute to their grade. Other circumstances can be worked out with me ahead of time. This does not affect their in-class grade. Print Name: ______
