Habitat for Humanity Regina is currently seeking volunteers to help in the ReStore. Volunteers will be required to assist with all Receiving duties. This support aids Habitat for Humanity Regina in raising funds to cover the affiliate's operational costs and build homes in the community.

Responsible to: Receiving Manager

Commitment: 4 – 8 hours per week for 4 – 6 months

Location: 1740 Broder Street, Regina Saskatchewan. (306)522-9705

Responsibilities:  Assist with accepting donations  Sort and clean donations before they are priced  Help staff and volunteers with labeling, pricing, and product placement  Clean and organize the shipping and receiving area  Assist customers with the loading and unloading products  Help the driver with pickups and deliveries as necessary  Ensure the receiving area is safe and clear of debris  Provide friendly and positive customer service  If possible, test and repair any malfunctioning items  Break down cardboard and store it in the appropriate bin  Separating materials to guarantee the highest return on the recyclables  Ensure that scrap metal, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel are being disposed of in the proper areas  Ensure that hazardous waste is being stored in the proper area  Remove and strip copper wire from appliances or other items  Clean donation drop-off area behind the ReStore of nails, screws, and glass

Skills:  Understanding of the Habitat for Humanity philosophy and the desire to promote it  Knowledge of reusable and resalable items.  Previous carpentry experience is an asset, but not mandatory  Ability to work as a team  Ability to effectively communicate with donors, HFH Regina staff members, and volunteers  Attend all necessary Habitat for Humanity training  Punctuality  Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
