Assessment details This is a common assessment task to be completed by all students in the study.
Format: Extended analytical essay Permitted Materials: (800 words) Planning lesson: any print and digital resources.
Single period of planning Writing lesson: Dictionary and single sided A4 support 2 periods of writing sheet (hand-written) with quotations, metalanguage, key vocabulary, list of key scenes. Annotated passage sheet (one side only). To satisfactorily complete this SAC you should be able to demonstrate the following areas of analysis: An understanding of the text demonstrated in a relevant and plausible interpretation An ability to write expressively and cohesively and present an interpretation An understanding of how views and values may be suggested in the text An analysis of how key passages and/or moments in the text contribute to an interpretation An analysis of the features of a text and how they contribute to an interpretation An analysis and close reading of textual details to support a coherent and detailed interpretation of the text
