Welcome by Erika Dvorske

Minutes from last meeting were read and approved with a motion by Kristi and a second by Erika.

New ELA resource for reading: Mr. Comfort shared the exciting news that the district has adopted an ELA resource for teachers. All of the 5th grade teachers present were excited about how the pieces of the resources fit together and how it is comprehensive across the grades.

Legislative Advocacy Group update: On behalf of Amy, Mr. Comfort shared that there had been a rally for education in South Park, and there are several opportunities to learn about the Board of Education candidates who will be elected on Tuesday, April 7.

Classroom Improvement Plans. Mr. Comfort shared in the meeting materials the worksheet that he is asking all teachers to complete as they review the results of the Winter MAP. The teachers shared the variations were informative and will help them be more reflective about how they are addressing issues of equity in the classroom.

Climate data Review. Mr. Comfort shared the results of the survey. Fewer people responding but the data suggests that the climate is positive. Highest participation in parent-teacher conferences in recent history, and no child care was offered. This supports the effort to not provide child care as it didn’t impact the outcome.

State Assessments. Are happening and will continue for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. The system seems to be working at this point.

Parent Engagement updates: On behalf of Amy, Mr. Comfort shared that the Science Fair was a great success with 15 entries, thanks to volunteers and help from the Boys and Girls Club staff helping with that process. Two more dads are helping on lunch or recess time. Books, Cookies and Cocoa was also a success with plenty of people participating.

Next meeting will be May 7 at 5:30pm at Schwegler.
