SyBBURE Undergraduate Researcher---Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN June 2015---Present

Perform biomedical research in the Searle Undergraduate Research Program on microfluidic and lateral flow devices. Present and critique ideas in small and large group settings weekly or bi-weekly.

 Designed and developed a multi-layered microfluidic device to be used for multiple or complex organ modeling with help from faculty mentors over the 2015 summer for ten 40 hour weeks.  Characterized photoresist-based and other membranes for use in the microfluidic device using Angstrom Resistive Evaporator, Hitachi SEM, ImageJ, and Microsoft Excel.  Presented membrane research at the Vanderbilt undergraduate research fair in September 2015.

VINSE Lab User---Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN August 2014 --- Present

Train in the Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering lab to learn how to use various imaging instruments in order to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze and characterize nanoscale materials.  Identified flaws in tip quality of fabricated diamond field-emission array pyramids to be 110nm (over 4 times the radius desired) using a Hitachi S4200 Scanning Electron Microscope, while receiving a grade of 100% on the coinciding lab report.

Soccer Coach/Manager—Portland Soccer Club, Portland, TN June 2014 – Present

Create and implement practice plans for high school age players at the D3 club level. Manage team finances and place orders. Schedule team functions and games. Enforce and uphold club and state policies for this team. Delegate responsibilities to a team manager and players.

 Balanced the planned $4000+ budget with variable influx and efflux of funds while reducing the anticipated out-of-pocket per player fees by over 25%  Established the first competitive club level soccer team for high school players in Portland  Petitioned the Tennessee State Soccer Association and had policy on age limits for coaches changed to allow me to coach the team
