Simplifying complex numbers Composition of functions Operations with complex numbers Recursion and Iteration Imaginary numbers Operations with radicals Quadratic formula Simplifying rational expressions Graphing Quadratic equations Sequences and Series
My expectations No food or drink in the classroom (bottled water is the only exception) Class starts when the bell rings. o This means you need to be in your seat by the time the bell rings. If you are not in your seat when the bell rings, you will be considered tardy. The only exception to this is if you are in the process of getting out a computer. (2 times tardy will result in a detention as stated in school policy) Come to class prepared (see section: Materials needed) Use your four minutes of passing periods to use the bathroom. No bathroom or drink passes will be issued. Use the time I give you in class to work on your assignment Work hard – engage in the class ASK QUESTIONS!!!!! Respect yourself, each other, and me (the teacher) o Example 1: Vulgar or offensive language is offensive to me and many others, so you respect us when you refrain from using it. o Example 2: You respect me and your classmates when you listen when others are talking. Speaking while others are addressing you is disrespectful. o E If you choose to act in ways that violate the given expectations, your choice will result in certain consequences. - I will remind you ONCE.

P-BIT’s: (Problem Based Instructional Tasks)
Purpose: Today’s world requires students to be creative problem solvers. These projects are meant to simulate real life problems. They will require the student to be creative and to think critically.
1.) All projects must be completed to pass the class. 2.) The project must be satisfactory to be considered complete. Projects that are not satisfactory will be returned and reworked.
Test correction procedure 1.) Any student earning below an 70% on a Unit test can rework a test 2.) The student will rework the test in Mr. Cundy’s room before or after school, or during 9th hour study hall. 3.) To rework the test, students will: a. Write out vocabulary terms and definitions for all vocabulary missed. b. Correctly solve all missed problems showing complete work on a separate sheet of paper. c. Write out a sentence or two explaining the student’s work. 4.) Reworks must be completed within 1 week of taking the original test. 5.) Students could earn enough points back to receive an 70% on the test. Points received will depend on the quality of work done. 6.) Test reworks will not be allowed on Quarter or Semester tests.
Math Binder: The student is required to have a 3-ring binder with 5 tabs in it. This will serve to organize all student notes, worksheets, and other class information. (No textbook will be checked out to students. A textbook is available upon request, however it is only supplemental for the course.)
Binder details are on the next page.
Make-up for absent students It is the student’s responsibility to make up assignments missed when he or she is absent. Please check my website to find any assignments/notes missed. If needed, the student can arrange a time with me to learn the missed material. Students have two days for every day absent to make up assignments.
Math conference room: The math conference room is available for students to study and work together in as long as they have permission or a pass. Students are not to use the conference room as a hallway.
