1.4 DESIGN / PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

4.A. Fire Rated Doors: 4.A.1. Doors shall be tested in accordance with UL 10B, "Fire Tests of Door Assemblies", NFPA 252, "Fire Tests of Door Assemblies", and UL 10C, "Positive Pressure Fire Tests of Door Assemblies". 4.A.2. Doors must have an approved marking or physical label, applied by an authorized facility, in accordance with the procedure set forth by an independent certification agency.

4.B. Stairwell Doors shall have a 250 degree F temperature rise rating (30 minute fire test duration.) The fire label on the door shall indicate the specific hourly rating.

1.5 SUBMITTALS

5.A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

5.B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 5.B.1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 5.B.2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 5.B.3. Installation methods. 5.B.4. Operation and maintenance data.

5.C. Shop Drawings: Show fabrication and installation details; include door elevations, head, jamb, and meeting stile details including full or partial gaskets.

5.D. LEED Submittals: Provide documentation of how the requirements of Credit will be met: 5.D.1. Product Data for Credit MR 2.1 and 2.2: For products being recycled, documentation of total weight of project waste diverted from landfill. 5.D.2. Product Data for Credit MR 4.1 and MR 4.2: For products having recycled content, documentation including percentages by weight of post consumer and preconsumer recycled content 5.D.2.a. Include statement indicating costs for each product having recycled content. 5.D.3. Product Data for Credit MR 5.1 and Credit MR 5.2: Submit data, including location and distance from Project of material manufacturer and point of extraction, harvest or recovery for main raw material. 5.D.3.a. 5.F. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.

5.G. Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.

5.H. Closeout Submittals: Provide manufacturer's maintenance instructions that include recommendations for periodic checking and adjustment of cable tension and periodic cleaning and maintenance of all railing and infill components.

1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE

6.A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum five years documented experience manufacturing products specified this Section.

6.B. Installer Qualifications: Minimum five years documented experience installing products specified this Section.

6.C. Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 6.C.1. Finish areas designated by Architect. 6.C.2. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect. 6.C.3. Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

7.A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation. Do not lay flat.

7.B. Store products in clean, dry area indoors until ready for installation. Store materials in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

7.C. Protect materials and finish from damage during handling and installation.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

8.A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

8.B. Verify actual openings by field measurements before fabrication; show recorded measurements on shop drawings.

8.C. 08230-3 Coordinate field measurements and fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid construction delays.

1.9 WARRANTY

9.A. Provide manufacturer's standard two-year warranty that products are free of defects in material and workmanship and guaranteeing to replace (exclusive of freight and labor) parts proven defective within two years after date of shipment to purchaser.

2.E. Fire Rated Flush Corrosion Resistant Doors: FRP-21 Fire Rated Flush Corrosion Resistant Doors constructed with FRP face sheets bonded to a mineral core with a perimeter designed for secure hardware attachment. Edge capping are natural finish stainless steel screw-applied, welded and buffed at corners. Doors have 11/16 inch minimum blocking at hinge and lock stiles and 6 inch minimum blocking at lacking hardware locations. Overall panel thickness is 1-7/8 inches with an "R" factor of 12.18. 2.E.1. Fire Rating: Doors are tested in accordance with UBC 7-2, NFPA 252, and UL 10C requirements. FRP-21 has passed the 1-1/2 hour positive pressure test, hose stream test, and 250 degree temperature rise tests and is Listed by Warnock Hersey. 3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

1.B. Verify opening sizes, tolerances and conditions are acceptable.

1.C. Examine conditions of substrates, supports, and other conditions under which this work is to be performed.

1.D. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

2.A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

2.B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

3.B. Install fire doors in compliance with requirements of NFPA 252, and UL 10C. Test fire-release system and reset components after testing.

3.C. Anchor assembly to wall construction and building framing without distortion or stress.

3.E. Coordinate installation of electrical service with Section 16150. Complete wiring from disconnect to unit components.

3.F. Coordinate installation of sealants and backing materials at frame perimeter as specified in Section 07900.
