Junior Level Simulation Experience Assignment

Pre simulation assignment: you will complete the following:  Complete assigned readings emailed to you by Simulation Facilitator.  Complete the assigned pre-simulation quiz at least 30 minutes prior to arrival to simulation experience (Located in the Lewis SLS https://evolve.elsevier.com/cs/store? role=student, click on your assigned patient and quiz is under pre-simulation exercises).  Watch or review simulation orientation/mannequin orientation videos located on the UW Oshkosh Simulation Website: http://www.uwosh.edu/nursingsimulation (this will help familiarize you with simulation, the room and the mannequin).  Examine your assigned patients electronic medical record (located under the patient in the Lewis SLS https://evolve.elsevier.com/cs/store?role=student)  Review your patients medications, physician orders, lab results and any other key patient components you feel you need to know about to competently care for your assigned patient. Simulation Assignment:  Provide competent, safe, patient-centered care  Document your care in the Electronic Medical Record and submit it to the evolve site. Post -Simulation Assignment:  Participate actively in a guided debriefing session with your simulation facilitator immediately following your simulation.  Complete the Post-Simulation Quiz https://evolve.elsevier.com/cs/store?role=student located under post simulation exercises section)  Complete the Post- simulation survey sent to you via email  Independently create a concept map using the evolve SLS concept map creator (When completed, either copy and paste the concept map document into a word document or save as a PDF and submit it to your clinical instructor via the D2L Clinical Drop Box labeled simulation).  Complete the Guided Reflection below (your grade for the reflection will be determined based on the depth and breadth of your responses) Submit this to your Clinical D2L Drop box.  Finally, submit your pre and post simulation quiz (in the appropriate box below) scores to your Clinical instructor in D2L Assignment Score Comments: Pre Simulation Assignment (Reading, EMR Review, /2 Quiz) Simulation Assignment (Participation, /2 Documentation) Post Simulation Quiz /1 Concept Map /5 Guided Reflection /5 Junior Level Simulation Experience Assignment
