3P Gatsby Annotation Extension Project Worksheet (2012) Project description: Each group will be presenting information on an assigned character to the class based on the information complied in your annotations and the worksheet below.

PART I: Worksheet

Directions: After reading and annotating The Great Gatsby, complete the following activity in your assigned group. Follow these steps:  First, write your assigned character’s name in the first box  Next, circulate and compare your character annotations with the other group members’ annotations. Pay attention to the similarities and differences in the annotations you read. This will provide a base for the group discussion.  Based on your findings, discuss and agree upon your character’s color association and any other symbols that may give insight into your character  Finally, discuss and agree upon two significant quotes to represent each category of annotation (insight, AP, and theme). NOTES: 1. Every group member must complete this worksheet as part of the project requirement! 2. Each member must complete an individual member log on the backside of this packet. PART II: Presentation

1. Choose a presentation format! Super fun  After completing the worksheet, group members will choose a format to present the information to the class. Group members should consider the different intelligences of all group members before selecting a format. You may use the list of suggestions below or you may suggest another format that appeals to your group to be approved by the teacher. Keep in mind that you can combine more than one option to accommodate the different intelligences in your group (translation: you may circle more than one option)! Be creative!
