MTAC # 134 Meeting Minutes 6/24/2010

Attendees: Ed Wanta, Bob Schimek, DeWitt Crawford, Nancy Cushman, Richard Daigle, Erv Drewek, Becky Dunn, Krista Finazzo Rosa Fulton, Susan Hawes, Jon Leon, Joyce McGarvy, Dale Miller, Peter Moore, Rick Nichols, Kevin Ricks, Brian Towery and other “guests”

Old Business:

The non-barcoded % threshold for FSS preparation: There was group discussion and it was decided that no percentage was necessary at this time.

Value of FSS preparation communication status (presentation): There was discussion and Rosa felt a presentation was not necessary due to the fact that the same information will be included in the implementation plan. After several feed back comments it was decided that a presentation will be put together.

What does "optional" in FSS Optional Prep mean?

Defined as "per mailing, at a facility"

Timelines

Schedule for publishing the Federal Register final rule – The USPS stated they will draft the initial document next week for internal review and comment. Current plan is to post it in the final rule and announcement in the Federal Register by mid July 2010

FSS label list – The current plan is to post the label list on RIBBS in August 2010

Software readiness – Discussion within the group called for vendors to communicate their time line for software readiness and distribution.

It was discussed that the OEL line will require a ZIP Code and that the Business Rules presentation needed to be corrected.

It was decided that an FAQ document was needed and Rich Daigle offered to provide a draft document.

Jon Leon was assigned the action of developing an outline for the communication needs.
