Course description:

This course covers basic electrical theory and basic wiring diagram interpretation, test equipment and diagnosis of batteries, starting and charging systems. The basics of ignition system fundamentals and servicing as well as diagnosis will be covered. Upon completion of course student should be able handle diagnosis and servicing of common electrical components related to the ignition, battery, starting and charging systems.

Course Objectives:

Course Objectives are based upon NATEF requirements and tasks for automotive students involved in areas relating to and preparing for ASE certification test area A-6. Class is inaddition to and supplements AUT- 164 Automotive Electronics and course AUT-162 Chassis Electrical. Student Text includes a shop manual describing in detail related tasks.
