Over the past 6 years I have developed software in the form of Access Databases and Web portal ASP.NET (VB.NET) projects. I found I had a passion for coding and I wanted to pursue this further. My professional career started within the IT Support sector in AS400 & Unix, after which I moved on to windows desktop support working my way up to server support then to an IT Manager position. Recently I have developed front end websites enhancing my skills in HTML JavaScript CSS, to add to this I have embarked on a course at Just IT to cement my skills set even further. This lead me to a Full Stack Web Developer position at Directferries Ltd. I am very creative by nature and my future ambition is to become a great developer, creating the very best user experience from start to finish.

We implement projects that we plan from creative idea meetings where myself and the rest of the team put forward new functionality or designs. We work in 2 week sprints and track customer conversion rates with Kibana. Currently we code in vb.net/and HTML/CSS JavaScript/jQuery/KnockoutJS.
Our projects are managed in Jira and we plan and implement our projects from start to finish so this includes for example creating Ajax requests and SQL Stored procedures for data requests, creating controls, web services to implement changes to the site, and recreate reusable methods in vb.net and JavaScript/jQuery. We use GIT for file sub versioning and push/pull requests and merges are done with Team Manager(VS 2015)/Bitbucket/SourceTree. We are also responsible for bugfixes to the site so if there is an issue we will plan a resolution and implement it

Interests and Achievements
I am currently working on a Movie database in ASP.NET focusing on the user experience which I will be adding to my online portfolio in the near future. I have a keen interest in fitness I enjoy going to the gym and I am a member of a boxing club that I attend regularly. I am a very family orientated person and I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also like to draw and I have attended some drawing classes which brings out the best in my creative side.
