I ‘d like to introduce new members who have joined the Hamburg Senior Center this past month. Please welcome the following members to our center: Ellen Lecureux Barbara Price Senior Advisory Board Meeting Re-Cap Meeting called to order at 9:59 am. All board members present except Amy Goble and Isabelle Collins. Call to the Public: None Correspondence: None Old Business: a) Newsletters- being sent out at bulk rate which is a lower postage rate for us; b) Barry Manilow Pot Luck- went very well and everyone seemed to have a great time New Business: a) Jo Czubaj- fell off the curb prior to a trip and was hurt which has prompted us to put together an emergency bag; b) Curb Levelling- curbs in handicapped areas to be levelled, a motion was made and passed for its removal by Chuck Menzies, supported by Deby Kaiser; c) Portrait Group Reception- holding a reception on April 29th from 3 - 5 pm; d) Bingo- Carol to call bingo on every 4th Tuesday; e) Walking Club- begins May 2nd and meeting on Mondays & Thursdays at 11:00 am; f) Attendance: February 2016 total of 709, weekly average of 197; March 964, average of 236. February 2015: total of 666, average of 167; March total of 964, average of 241. February 2014 total of 908, average of 226, March 969, average of 218. Call to the Public: None Board Comments: Gerry Przeslawski complimented the cleanliness of the building. Deby Kaiser wants the meeting room flag moved to a more center location. Gary Kaiser wants the organs removed and also wants to know if we have gotten a quote from a cleaning company for cleaning the building on a regular basis. Next meeting will be June 1, 2016

Pool Tables

Life Portrait Painting Just a reminder!!! We have 2 pool Modeling tables ……… a 9’ and a 7” slate tables that have been professionally re-covered. The pool room is Our Friday Life Portrait Drawing available all day from 9:00 am thru and 4:00 pm. Painting group is always looking for folks to Cue sticks & balls are available in come in and model for them. They will pay the pool room for youruse or you can you $35 and it’s fascinating to watch them bring in your own. work. If you are modeling, you will strike your pose for about 45 minutes, take a break and then resume the pose. Or join the group if you want a live model. Inside Detroit, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 $71; trip includes a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the Fox Theater, dine at the Foxtown Grille and a guided tour of the Hitsville USA Motown Historical Museum. There is a fair amount of walking and some steps on this trip so wear your walking shoes, not a wheelchair -friendly trip. Monies for this trip are due by April 17th !!
