Lesson Plan to Teach Expectations & Character Education Dismissal

1. Expectation/ Location: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Hands & Feet to Self, Be There-Be Ready, and Follow Directions Dismissal 2. Activities to Enhance Skill Development Using cooperative learning structure “Numbered Heads Together” to brainstorm a list of things done at the end of each day when getting ready to go home. List the ideas on the board. Lead students to list items needed to take home: homework, planner, books, etc. Discuss the procedure in getting everything out of cubby, locker, desk, etc. Discuss that these things go into backpacks.

6. Activities to Extend Skill Development Develop a T-chart for the way dismissal/bus loading looks and sounds when the rules are being followed-use words and pictures of students demonstrating desired behaviors. Develop videos to demonstrate rules/behavior expectations
