3. Employee Benefits Update
a. Nurse Garay – looks like the insurance will be going up about $20.00 each, until July (new fiscal year)
4. Direction 1: Safe and Supportive Learning Environment-Smith
a. Badges/Doors locked – badges and doors are locked. Use the magnetic strip.
b. Cafeteria will be remodeled and will start about the middle of April. Will be clearing out during intersession. After intersession we will be getting the food shipped. We will get lunch during intersession for the 1st 3 days. On Thursday we will have the hotdog cookout. When they deliver there will be set meals and we will have a lot of packaged foods. Will let parents know so that they can feed students at home if they wish. Lunch will also be a rotating lunch every 4 weeks. It is different from the district menu.
c. Computer Fieshing – email being sent by people they know and asking for private information and viruses. Be careful with e-mails. Look at e-mail address before opening an e-mail. Do not open them delete the e-mail.
5. Direction 2: College and Career Readiness-Macias
a. College Facts on a Slide for Announcements - only have 4 slides. Please send in for the announcements
b. Proud Principal Wall – in process. Let Mrs. Macias know and she will send a letter out.
6. Direction 3: Highly Qualified, Effective Faculty and Staff-Macias
a. Read Across America Week 3/2 to 3/9 b. TELPAS- 2/27 to 3/31 – sign up for TELPAS practice. Send e-mail to Mrs. Arellano
7. Direction 4: Home and Community Partnerships-Macias
a. 3/1-Spring Pictures-Free Dress
b. 3/6-Faculty Meeting-STAAR Training-Mandatory for all
c. 3/8-STAAR Family Night- 3rd, 4th and 5th at 5:00 – Here at School. Teachers can show the benchmark scores. Great opportunity to discuss student standing. Please explain the new rating. Hotdogs and incentives will be provided. Sign up for tutoring. Will run it as a presentation or like a Parent Teacher Conference. Provide important testing dates as well. Lower grades will support by having a reading or math night.

e. 3/27 STAAR Pep Rally – for 3rd, 4th, and 5th only. They will cheer on the outside and each lower grade teacher will get an upper grade class to encourage for STAAR. 5:00- 6:00.

8. Direction 5: Accountability for All-Macias
a. 5th Grade Benchmark Scores – Writing 51% passing, 71%
MOY I-Station K=38% at Tier 1, 1st 46% Tier 1, 2nd grade 60% at Tier 1, 3rd grade 74% at Tier 1.
b. 4th Grade Writing Benchmark Scores – Dropped from 64%, Saturday School, Afterschool and Intersession.
c. PreK-2nd-Perfect Attendance Incentive – We are dropping in attendance across the whole district. New Incentive to promote attendance. Perfect Attendance from March 6th – April 7th in PK-2nd will be invited to the SAC to watch ELMO and friends, 1 hour show. Will make poster for each hall. Our chronic absences are extremely bad. Pending on 3rd- 5th.

e. 3rd –Dogs are not allowed on the campus. Parent bad mouthed teacher after tutoring.
