William DeMeo - Bio
William DeMeo has extensive experience not only as a producer and writer, but also as an accomplished actor. His first producing accomplishment was the independent feature film One Deadly Road which he wrote, produced and played the leading role in. William went on to write, produce and play the leading role in the feature film Wannabes. He won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Wannabes at the New York Independent International Film Festival. William’s next film was, Searching for Bobby D which he produced, Co-wrote the screenplay with his Director Paul Borghese and starred in with Carmen Electra and Sandra Bernhardt.
William again teamed up with Paul Borghese to start developing a new project that they co-wrote, titled Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn which by 2011 was in production and by May of 2013 was released by Lionsgate Entertainment onto DVD and VOD after a limited theatrical release in select AMC theatres. DeMeo played the lead in the film, noted by Film critic Jeffrey Lions as delivering… “an earthy performance”. Lyons went on to call this film, “A gritty, true-to-life crime drama”. Films in Review called it… “a surprisingly rewarding mob tragedy, packed with sumptuous detail, editorial style, colorful performances, and directorial skill”.
Examiner.com called it… “a stylish, realistic independent gangster film with all the elements of a classic, featuring high production quality, great acting, directing, story and soundtrack." The movie also starred Armand Assante, Ice T, Cathy Moriarty and Ja Rule.
In addition to the roles DeMeo has played in the films he has produced he has also appeared in numerous other feature films as well as on national television shows and in mini-series including but not limited to portraying a young Carlo Gambino in Boss of Bosses, appeared in Blue Bloods and played the character Al Pacino in Analyze That.
DeMeo’s most current producing endeavor will be a feature film titled Back in the Day of which he wrote the screenplay and will play the leading role of Anthony Rodriquez, a champion but aging and struggling boxer in conflict. Paul Borghese will once again be at the helm as his director, as DeMeo and Borghese have proven to be a great filmmaking team since their first production together, Searching for Bobby D.
