My Name Is Chris Molhan, and I Live in Scituate RI. I Am Thirty Seven Years Old, and Have

Hi,

My name is Chris Molhan, and I live in Scituate RI. I am thirty seven years old, and have a four year old son that is the most important thing to me in the world. I started in education approximately seven years ago. I went to school, and achieved my BS. Degree in Business. I started working in Technical support. Computers interested me, and I was content. I made a good living at it. I had the opportunity to become a technical trainer at the company I worked for. I loved it instantly. I was able to help people, and show them how to use computers I received a tremendous amount of satisfaction from it. I did a lot of research, and decided to pursue a career in education. This was not an easy decision for me but, I knew that I would be very happy with this choice.

I moved down to Florida, and applied for and received my temporary teaching license in Language arts Middle school grades. I got hired at a charter school. I was so unprepared for this but, I quickly learned. I mentored with experienced teachers, and tried my best to absorb as much as possible. I went through Florida’s Alternate Teaching Certification program which required taking evening, and night classes to learn the topics about teaching I didn’t take in college. I loved teaching, but I needed to move back to RI after a year. My house didn’t sell, and the housing market crashed. I could no longer afford paying rent and a mortgage so I moved back. I went back into Tech support, and worked as a Part Time instructor at the trade school I currently teach in. They soon offered me a full time teaching position that I still work at today.

My goal is to obtain my Master’s Degree in Education so I can learn new techniques, and strategies. I am also looking to cement my future in education. It is my dream to return to public school teaching I am very interested in instructional strategies. I am always looking to for new ways to convey information. I have learned through my short time teaching that teaching is a science, and has a structured approach to be successful. I am hoping that I can learn so new strategies, and also refine some that I have already been using. My personal goals for this course are to become a better instructor, expand my teaching experience, and take one step closer to achieving my degree.
