Xytron Home Security Systems-M1009V Congratulations on your purchase of a Xytron 9v Security Unit.

The Security Unit has been wholly designed and manufactured in South Africa, and the concept has been tried and tested in other products manufactured by Xytron since 1994. Please read these instructions in full before assembling the system. WARNING! KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN!

The Oleoresin Capsicum spray is flammable, medically safe and has been approved by the CSIR and the SPCA. The non-toxic pepper fog when sprayed, is instantly effective, non-lethal, and irritates eyes, skin and respiratory system, incapacitating the recipient for up to 35 minutes.

FIRST AID AND DECONTAMINATION

 MOVE PERSON TO A WELL VENTILATED AREA  RE-ASSURE AND KEEP CALM – THE PERSON CANNOT SEE YOU – TALK CONTINUOUSLY  WASH AFFECTED PARTS WITH COOL WATER AND A LITTLE DISHWASHING LIQUID (SKIN ONLY, NOT THE EYES)  USE ONLY COOL WATER TO CLEANSE THE EYES (FILL BASIN WITH WATER AND HAVE THE VICTIM PLACE HIS FACE IN THE WATER AND BLINK EYES RAPIDLY)  CONTINUE FLUSHING WITH WATER UNTIL SYMPTOMS DISAPPEAR  NEVER USE OIL, CREAM, SALVE OR OINTMENT – THIS JUST TRAPS THE OLEORESIN CAPSICUM ON THE SKIN  IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST, OBTAIN IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION

The unit is designed to provide security where there is no power or where it is inconvenient to have major cabling. The residue from the spray should be left to settle before vacuuming, and care taken not to touch the exposed area before cleaning. Care should also be taken when handling the canister and the installation instructions should be STRICTLY adhered to.

Indemnity – The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any injuries or problems howsoever caused, arising out of the use or misuse of the system. All reasonable precautions have been taken by the manufacturer to minimise the incidence of spurious emissions. It is recommended that the aerosol be removed from the unit, or the system itself removed to a safe place, when children are left without supervision. Do not leave the unit in direct sunlight – any aerosol will burst at high temperatures. Read instructions before any attempt is made to install the system. Use of spray other than Oleoresin Capsicum will violate the warranty on the Xytron Home Security System. Xytron take no responsibility for alien sprays.

The unit is designed to protect your assets, decide what needs protecting. Choose a location for the Xytron 9v Security System, ensuring that the device is not in direct sunlight i.e.

 Mount it in a trailer or caravan  Stand it in a bookcase close to Hi-Fi or computer equipment  Wall mount – e.g. above a door  Mount it near the safe or close to precious items  Install the correct switch to trigger the device  Connect battery connector. Please ensure that you connect it correctly. Close the front cover of the system, ensuring that the nozzle is not blocked and is protruding out of the lid. WARNING – PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ASSEMBLY

Operation of the Xytron 9v Security System: Remember there is no light to indicate whether the system is armed or not. Remember the “ON/OFF” positions. Make sure that the door/window is closed properly. Turn the key ON. Don’t go in! To disarm simply turn the key OFF! Should your installation be correct then you wouldn’t have anything to worry about? The system is factory set to spray 2,4seconds only then reset.

Terminal connections

Should you need to change the canister of OC spray – remove front cover, ensure the steel arm is pushed up and pull the canister towards you from the top. To insert, ensure the steel arm is pushed up and first locate top of canister in to the cavity and then push in base. If you are unsure of any connections do not connect, contact your supplier

Notes on battery

The Xytron 9v Security Unit is a battery-operated system, and relies upon regular testing by the user. The battery will give around 6-24 months of usable life. The battery will decay and go flat over a period of time. This will vary between battery manufacturers. The battery is therefore excluded from the 12-month warranty, but is a replaceable item. The battery only has to supply power during the spray cycle, the rest of the time it is idle provided the trigger mechanism is reset immediately. Replace battery only with another Alkaline Battery Notes on testing

Should the system be used for demonstration or testing purposes, it is recommended that another battery be used to prolong the life of the original system battery. Don’t trigger the device repeatedly the actuator would over heat and burn out. The warrantee does not cover this.

Warrantee:

The Xytron Security 9v System has a twelve-month warranty from date of purchase (excluding the 9v battery which will go flat if the system is left in the box for long periods of time). It is not recommended that the system be used in rooms where pets have access. Avoid extreme heat or direct sunlight as the canister can explode. CPSS cannot replace under warrantee any spray cans that have been damaged by heat i.e.: Bulging bottoms or valves that have ruptured. Replace battery only with another Alkaline Battery

The aerosol contains 100ml of Pepper Fog, which will last for approximately 12 seconds of spray time. A 2.4- second spray will fog sufficient volume to make the intruder leave the premises, not to incapacitate.

Aerosols containing demonstration spray are available. This demonstration spray provides a harmless method of determining the effective area of contamination should the real pepper fog be activated. The demonstration aerosol also provides the purchaser with a safe method for periodic testing of the CPSS Security System.

Other Xytron Security Systems

 Stand Alone Portable Primary Unit (Soon)

Plug to mains for easy protection system. Unit contains Battery Back-up, Passive Infra Red detector, Sound Bomb and Remote Arm/Disarm, and the ability to expand via a secondary unit. There is no limit to the number of secondary systems that can be added to this primary. Main application would be as an inexpensive local protection unit for assets, holiday homes, caravans, cottages etc. This unit would be purchased when initial protection needs and / or funds are limited, and it then has the ability to expand at a later stage with the addition of a secondary unit.

 Secondary Unit

This unit contains Battery Back-up, Passive Infrared detector, Sound Bomb siren and 20 meters of cable to allow attachment to a Primary Unit. A second or subsequent secondary unit can be attached to this secondary for a full security system that can be taken with the owner should a house move be necessary. There is no limit to the number of secondary systems that can be added to one primary just ensure sufficient power.  Commercial 300ml Wall System Primary and Secondary

Offers Alarm with Spray and Back-up exactly as the portable unit, but is designed to be wall mounted with a separate PIR and contains three times the volume of OC spray for larger areas with nozzles to spray in different directions.

 SMS Communicator

A device that will communicate to designated Cell phone numbers for complete control and monitoring of Xytron security systems. The unit has eight input and eight output options, which are customer selectable. Via SMS messaging, the customer and designated persons (neighbor), block watch, Security Company etc. is informed of exactly what and where an incident on the system occurs and remote arming can be done or a “System Status” check can be done.
