Position: Coordinator of Educational Information Services/Attendance/ Guidance Services/TEAM Data System Configurator

Job Description: To ensure that the Marshall County School System is in compliance with state laws and provides accurate student and staff data necessary for the approval of schools and the allocation of state funds for education. Applicant will ensure that enrolled students gain no less than full advantage from his/her educational opportunities because of attendance problems.

Duties: Essential duties include but are not limited to: Coordinates student personnel services regarding the state’s Education Information System and the State Student Management System software program as required by law; coordinates the duties of the EIS specialist/attendance operators assigned to each school, including scheduling requirements; supervises and works closely with the Social Workers to maintain the student files and the attendance patterns of chronic offenders before any investigation or action is taken; accompanies the Social Worker/Attendance Teacher when making home visits or school visits as needed; stays abreast of students with attendance problems and works to ensure that these problems are addressed in a timely manner; approves and supervises the system of attendance referrals, initiates juvenile petitions, and prepares and presents cases for formal hearings in juvenile court and truancy board; coordinates the home school enrollment program, alternative school, homeless in accordance with McKinney-Vento Plan, and all other programs pertaining to student attendance; prepares, maintains, and submits numerous monthly and annual reports as required by the State; maintains the system’s records of attendance and student accounting; conducts surveys and research projects as needed; works closely with guidance counselors to determine graduation rates and cohorts are correct; works closely with HR to determine highly qualified status of teachers, and to maintain accurate licensure for teachers; updates HQ website, and assists teachers with licensure applications; serves as the system’s TEAM Coordinator, oversees the implementation of the program, and coordinates data input by principals and ensures that data is accurate and on time; and must be able to interact with others.

1 | P a g e EIS/Attendance Qualifications: Valid teacher’s license and minimum of a Master’s Degree; experience in using the State Student Management System and EIS; and experience in determining graduation rates and scheduling.
