What is SSC? Elected group including the principal, parents, teachers, students Each group elects their own

Students are not a requirement, but allowed.

Approve and plan school plan (SPSA) during a minimum of four meetings per year. ELAC (English learner advisory committee) SAC (school advisory committee for title I students), and SEPAC (special education parent advisory committee) may give input.

Mr Acker showed LCFF video and explained the difference between LCFF and current funding model. Current funding is strict and targeted to a fault. New LCFF allows schools and districts to determine needs of specific students and allocate funding based on student needs.

The SSC by laws rule how SSC operates. By laws may be reviewed by SSC annually. All documentation is kept for three years. Mrs. Garcia asked if Cree maintained records and could she see it. Minutes are posted on website.

Reviewed the rules of the Brown Act.

SSC may assign sub committees. For example, a sub committee maybe from ELAC.

Mr. Acker cited the Ed Code that outlines rules for School Site Councils.

Scjhool Site Council discussed teacher requests for funding.

Dr. Piper explained that some requests were lumped together as one request and many of the technology items were not currently available in the library.

Mr. Wallace moved to approve all items for allocation of last year’s funds. Mr. Olson seconded. The budget re-allocation passed with all members in favor.
