8th Grade Celebration Trip Every year the 8th grade students at Franklin School get to choose a trip to celebrate the end of the elementary years. We provide a list of options, present the information to parents and students, and then allow students to choose where they would like to go. Although the school will put in money to help fund the trip, the cost is more than the school can cover so the students participate in fundraising activities. The list of trip choices is below and fundraising activities are on the next page.

Catalina Island/3 nights (snorkeling, astronomy, campfire, oceanography, kayaking) Dates are May 11-May 13, 2018 Tickets $272.09 (2 half price/1 full price chaperone) (can have up to 6 with approval and paying full price ~$255 Bus $110 Food $30 $412.09 2017-2018 8th grade timeline including fundraising opportunities Fundraising opportunities are contingent upon parent and student participation! Fundraisers may be canceled due to lack of parent and student participation. August 22 – Parent informational meeting 24 – students vote 29 – Note sent home stating cost of trip and payment deadlines September 15 – Dance-a-thon (1pm-9pm) $25/person 21 – Candy Sales (Students need to pay for candy boxes up front) $30 profit/box October 21 – Fall Festival (4PM-7PM) $1700 last year December 11-15 – Santa Shop – Individual sales and Kids Korner items January 19 – Dance-a-thon February 12 – Candy Sales May Date tbd – Trip
There will also be an option for paying the cost in full.
