With a strong economic base, cultural and historical attractions, natural beauty, and diverse recreational opportunities, Downtown Anchorage has long been considered Alaska’s civic and cultural destination. In the fi rst decade of the 21st Century, Downtown Anchorage is at an important crossroads. Construction of the new convention center, expansion of the museum, plus many park and roadway improvements represent the highest level of public investment in the Downtown core in more than twenty years.
