Exciting news! We’ve just received the information about this year’s Dancing with Dementia event which is organised by Blackpool Council.

Dancing with Dementia will run on Wednesday 14th June 2017 from 11am to 4pm. Please note the change of venue which will be the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens.

The day will include entrance to the magnificent Empress Ballroom, a packed programme of music, dance, Wurlitzer organ and demonstrations throughout the day, free raffle and a delicious Afternoon Tea. The offer is open to anyone resident in Blackpool and living with dementia. Should they need to be accompanied by a carer/relative (one) they too will be able to enjoy the day, including afternoon tea. If they wish to bring along more than one person this is fine but there would be a charge of £10.00 per additional person. The Empress Ballroom has been chosen this year as access is much simpler; from the entrance on the corner of Leopold Grove and Adelaide Street you can walk/wheel straight into the ballroom – no steps or lifts to negotiate!! There are also plenty of accessible toilets in the Ballroom. Hopefully these changes will be of huge benefit and will add to your enjoyment of the day. Please book your ticket with us as soon as possible as we have to provide the number of attendees by 17th May.

Yet again thank you to all of you for attending the groups and trips. Without you the fun and support you provide to each other could not happen. We have started the mens group and the gardening group up again this year and we do hope that people will attend and enjoy these again.

Just a reminder that all trips need to be paid for five days in advance as we need to make payment to the venues, there will be no late availability for these trips. Family and friends are welcome to join us on the trips providing we have places available, please ask to be added to the reserve list if you are interested.
