British Riding Clubs Dressage to Music Qualifier For the BRC Dressage to Music Championships 2017 Schedule Sunday 20th August 2017 Reaseheath College, Nantwich CW5 6DF

Horses will only be permitted to compete in two individual championship classes (warm up classes and pairs not included). Competitors that qualify the same horse in three individual championship classes will be required to choose which classes they will contest at the Championship. This must be declared to the Official Steward at the area qualifier on the day. Horses not to have won any BD points at the close of prelim Class 1 entry. Horses downgraded by BRC to zero points are Junior Dressage to Music eligible. No horse in the Junior Prelim section may have £17.50 Prelim Section(Qualifier) been placed first to third in a Dressage to Music Championship at Novice level or above. Points gained at prelim level will not be counted. Test: BD Prelim Freestyle to Music 2016 Open to Junior members of an affiliated Riding Club that have paid their membership for the current Class 2 year. Horses may have won up to 124 BD total Junior Dressage to Music points at the close of prelim entry in order to ride £17.50 Novice Section (Qualifier) the Novice test. Horses downgraded by BRC are eligible. Points gained at prelim level will not be counted.Test: BD Novice Freestyle to Music 2016 Open to Senior or Junior members of an affiliated Riding Club that have paid their membership for the Class 3 current year. Pairs may be mixed or solely junior or Senior and Junior senior. Horses may have won up to 124 BD total £35 Dressage to Music points at the close of prelim entry. Horses Pairs Section (Qualifier) downgraded by BRC are eligible. Points gained at prelim level will not be counted. Test: BRC Pairs to Music 2014 0 Points section. Open to Senior members of an affiliated Riding Club that have paid their Class 4 membership for the current year. Open to groups 7 and 8 riders only. Horses are not to have won any £17.50 Senior Dressage to Music BD points at the close of the prelim entry. Horses Novice Section (Qualifier) downgraded by BRC to zero points are eligible. Points gained at prelim level will not be counted. Test: BD Novice Freestyle 2016 -124 points section. Open to Senior members of an affiliated Riding Club that have paid their Class 5 membership for the current year. Horses may have Senior Dressage to Music won up to 124 BD total points at the close of prelim £17.50 Novice Section (Qualifier) entry. Horses downgraded to 124 points by BRC are eligible. Points gained at prelim level will not be counted. Test: BD Novice Freestyle 2016 Mixed class of Senior and Junior members of an Class 6 affiliated Riding Club that have paid their Dressage to Music membership for the current year. Horses may have won up to 199 BD total points at the close of prelim £17.50 Elementary Section entry. Horses downgraded by BRC are eligible. (Qualifier) Points gained at prelim level will not be counted. Test: BD Elementary Freestyle to Music 2016 Mixed class of Senior & Junior members of an affiliated Class 7 Riding Club that have paid their membership for the current year. Riders may choose which test they are Dressage to Music better suited to (Advanced Medium or Medium). Horses Pick a Test may have won up to 299 BD total points at the close of £17.50 Medium/Advanced prelim entry in order to ride the Medium test & up to 425 BD total points for the Adv Medium. Horses downgraded Medium Section by BRC are eligible. Points gained at prelim level will not (Qualifier) be counted. Test: BD Medium Freestyle to Music 2016 or BD Advanced Medium Freestyle to Music 2016 All entrants must pay a prelim entry of £20 per individual and £26 per pair to British Riding Clubs at least 21 days before the date of the qualifier (above). Entry forms can be found on the BRC website for postal entries www.britishridingclubs.org.uk or online entries can be made via the BHS bookshop www.britishhorse.com. Late prelim entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser with a late surcharge of £10 per individual or £20 per pair, if there are sufficient spaces. Late entries cannot be guaranteed therefore must not be paid for until approval from the organiser has been sort.

If the date of the qualifier is cancelled for any reason, the close of prelim entry will remain. However, if the qualifier is moved more than 21 days later, entries will be re-opened but late entry fees cannot be refunded. Eligibility will be approved at the original close of prelim entry.

All individual competitors and at least one of the pair riders must hold BD Music/standard membership in order to compete.

British Riding Clubs and the Organiser of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all the officials and stewards. Save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the organiser(s) or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organiser(s) or British Riding Clubs to which these rules apply, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, vehicles, their contacts and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.

Protective Headgear ‘Protective Headwear’ must be worn at all times by anyone, whether or not a Competitor, riding anywhere at a BRC event. Harnesses must be correctly adjusted and fastened. At all BRC Championships and qualifiers ‘Protective Headwear’ must show a visible BRC ‘hat tag’. ‘Protective Headwear’ constitutes a hat which meets one of the current standards as detailed in the BRC 2017 Rule Book. Failure to do so will incur elimination.

PAS 015 (1998 or 2011) and must have BSI Kitemark VG1 01.040 (2014-12) and must have BSI Kitemark ASTM F1163 (2004a or 04a onwards) and must have SEI mark SNELL E2001 and must have SNELL label and number AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) and must have SAI Global mark

Your horse must have up to date influenza vaccinations in line with rule G7 in the current BRC Rulebook. There is also a checking device on the BRC website, but if you are unsure, please call BRC on 02476 840518.

(This is in addition to the Prelim entry paid to BRC and makes the total £37.50 per Individual / £61.00 for pairs)

Helpers are needed and are greatly appreciated (one for every 4 riders from a club, names / e-mail/ mobile phone number to the organiser above with entries please. Without helpers the day will not run! There’s only one outdoor job! Trained scorers and a first aid qualified person would be an absolute bonus.
