Associate Director Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat
Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat is a ministry of Youth for Christ Canada and is located in the rural setting of Lake Cowichan District on Vancouver Island. The Associate Director position will focus on providing quality Christian leadership while assisting the Executive Director to manage Honeymoon Bay Lodge and Retreat.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director of Honeymoon Bay Lodge and Retreat.
Primary Responsibilities HEALTH AND WELLNESS Manage the operational and fiscal activities of Health and Wellness in staffing levels, budgets, products and financial goals. Review performance date to monitor and measure productivity and goal progress. Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve operating quality and efficiency. Supervise Health and Wellness staff in accordance with retreat policies and procedures.
MANAGE MARKETING/ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENTS Perform regular assessments of marketing activities to ensure efficient use of funds and personnel. Oversee print, Internet, social, website, direct and other marketing endeavors. Target existing and new customers that align with the mission of Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat. Accounts Receivable; Accounts Payable and Payroll. Assist in Budget Development; month end and year-end. Meet budgeting and financial targets. Systems; and various financial reporting as needed.
HOSPITALITY Provide oversight to guest services, housekeeping and food services.
PARTNER DEVELOPMENT Personal partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position.
SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT YFCC staff members are encouraged to spend time in spiritual reflection and development and are encouraged to take annual spiritual retreats. YFCC staff are encouraged to attend relevant training and enrichment courses.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process where necessary. Attend the National Ministry Conference each year. Attend Western Regional Retreat each year.
OTHER Take care of IT issues as they arise within competency levels. For example but not limited to: Insuring printers are accessible, network issues, and coordinate web site editing. Assist Executive Director in multiple areas of management. Including but not limited to: managing staff; front desk operations; employee, customer and public relations; coordinating special events.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. Has strong analytical and critical thinking skills and demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships. Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills/attributes: Hospitality Counselling A servant heart with empathy for others Computer Skills Leadership experience Marketing and bookkeeping experience
