Bartow High School Cheerleading Uniform Guidelines
This is a detailed explanation of what is appropriate and inappropriate regarding your uniforms for Bartow Cheerleading. This includes but is not limited to, uniforms, bows, practice wear, warm ups, hoodies and/or anything that has the Bartow Cheer logo.
Please look closely at the schedule to make sure you wear the correct uniform/bow/practice clothes. The coaches are the ONLY ones allowed to make changes to the uniform schedule. Uniforms must be clean and should smell nice. Follow the uniform washing instructions to clean your uniforms appropriately. Uniforms should NEVER be dry cleaned or dried in a dryer. Do NOT wear your uniform to any event other than an event that is assigned a uniform by BHS Cheerleading (ex. Halloween, party, McDonald’s after games). Any inappropriate videos or pictures found on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine (or any other Internet site) of cheerleaders in uniform will result in disciplinary action at the discretion of the coaches and could result in removal from the squad. Do NOT give any part of your uniform (including any of the above mentioned items) to anyone to borrow or use for ANY reason. Girls must wear briefs under skirts at ALL times. Skirts should be zipped up and fastened at the waist at ALL times. Skirts and shorts should NOT be rolled down. Tops should be worn correctly at ALL times. Guys must wear all pants at the waist. Undergarments should NEVER been seen while in uniform. Girls, this includes bras and bra straps. Guys, this includes underwear and/or compression shorts. Plain, white, no-show socks should be worn with cheer shoes for all events. No other shoes will be permitted. Your cheer shoes should be cleaned prior to games and performances. Your hair is part of your uniform. Girls, your hair must be worn in the correct way with the correct hair accessory. Guys, your hair must be neat and you must be clean shaven while in uniform. All hair should be worn at an appropriate length, out of the face and shouldn’t be a safety hazard. NO JEWELRY is allowed to be worn at games, performances or competitions. This includes ALL piercings. Do NOT show up with jewelry on. Taping over jewelry doesn’t make it acceptable. The coaches WILL NOT be responsible for holding your jewelry. Artificial nails and nail polish are NOT allowed. Natural nails cannot be visible beyond the end of the fingers when viewed from the palm side of the hands. Girls - simple, but visible, make-up is expected while in uniform. A minimum of blush, mascara and lip gloss is expected. Any visible tattoos must be covered. Please keep in mind that uniforms will shift during performances. Make sure your tattoos cannot be seen. If you don’t follow these guidelines, you will be considered out of uniform and disciplinary action will be taken.
